Title : Test Technician
Location - Benton Harbor, MI 49022
Pay Rate: $30 -$40/Hr. on W2
Visa : US Citizenship or Permanent Resident is required.
Duration : 12+ month contract with a possibility of getting extended
Role Summary
This position is part of the Commercial Laundry Team and reports directly to the V&V Lab Manager. The Test Technician II works closely with software, electrical, and mechanical engineers on Connected Laundry Systems. The primary goal of this role is to ensure testing results for electronics, mechanical structures, and other lab operations are delivered on time, within budget, and with high-quality documentation.
Job Responsibilities
- Interface with cross-functional teams, including Architecture, Design, Software, and Management.
- Execute system verification and validation testing at the machine level using both manual and automated tools.
- Perform mechanical tear-downs and rebuilds on test machines.
- Participate in technical design reviews, electronics requirements reviews, and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA).
- Document, track, and follow up on software bugs and mechanical failures.
- Read and understand electrical functional circuits and define sub-system interfaces in compliance with overall system design.
- Provide timely, objective, and clear communication of test results to stakeholders across all levels of the organization.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 1+ years of experience working with requirements management and executing standard test procedures (or relevant academic/professional experience).
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude with a proactive, hands-on approach.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associates or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronic, Mechatronics, Aeronautical, or Automotive Engineering.
- 2+ years of experience in electronic systems validation (hardware, software, components, and wiring).
- Experience with requirements management tools such as IBM, Jire, or Codebeamer.
- Experience designing and machining test fixtures for custom test setups.
- Automation experience.
- Familiarity with electronics manufacturing processes and OPTO tools/systems.
