Tesla Robotics Integration is looking for a Test Engineer who will be responsible for designing and developing test hardware, software, and technical processes. This role works in cross-functional environments with electronics design, firmware, integration, and manufacturing teams to build sophisticated, automated testers that support high-volume electronics manufacturing.

  • Own and lead test system software and hardware design, and drive implementation of product testing on Tesla products and engineering builds
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams across EE, Firmware, and Integration early in the product development lifecycle to influence Design for Test (DFT) requirements and testing features
  • Conduct failure and data analysis to provide actionable feedback to electronics design, firmware/software integration, and manufacturing teams for product and process improvements
  • Design, develop, and maintain test fixtures; collect data with hardware in the loop
  • Develop automation tools and maintain CI/CD pipelines for regression testing and rapid test prototyping on new hardware
  • Document system test plans and communicate findings to leadership, peers, and cross-functional partners
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field, or equivalent industry experience and evidence of exceptional ability
  • Solid understanding of analog, digital, and power electronics hardware architectures and design
  • Proficiency with Unix/Linux command-line tools and environments
  • Hands-on experience with Python, Golang, or Rust/C++
  • Ability to read complex electrical schematics and PCB layouts and design clear, relevant software tests
  • Solid understanding of HW/SW architecture and interoperability of a sophisticated system; fundamental EE knowledge required
  • Experience with schematic and PCB layout design in Altium, Allegro, or similar CAD tool is a plus preferred
  • Hands-on knowledge in tester design and qualification, troubleshooting, limit setting, and process buy-offs preferred
  • Proficiency in statistical analysis and relevant data analysis tools preferred
  • Curiosity and ability to learn new software and AI capabilities and apply them to improve factory test processes preferred

Expected Compensation

$108,000 - $240,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits

Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
