Description

Job Title: Test EngineerJob Description

This role involves working on the shop floor to inspect and test filtration systems and components before shipment, ensuring they meet quality standards and comply with company policies and procedures. The Test Engineer uses electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills to verify system performance and supports safe, reliable operation of equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect and test filtration systems and components on the shop floor prior to shipping to ensure they meet all specifications and quality standards.
  • Run filtration systems using water, oil, and air to verify proper operation and performance under various conditions.
  • Measure current and voltage using a volt-amp meter and other electrical measuring devices to confirm that systems operate within defined parameters.
  • Work safely with electrical systems at voltages up to 575V by following all safety guidelines and procedures.
  • Operate basic hand tools and electrical measuring devices to perform tests, adjustments, and minor repairs as needed.
  • Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical components to identify issues and implement effective corrective actions.
  • Assist with electrical assembly tasks when required to support production and testing activities.
  • Communicate with customers during in-house factory acceptance tests to demonstrate system performance and address technical questions.
  • Document test results, issues, and corrective actions clearly and accurately in accordance with company procedures.

Essential Skills

  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Test Technician or Test Engineer.
  • Proficiency in using test equipment such as volt-amp meters and other electrical measuring instruments.
  • Experience in test engineering, including executing test procedures and following test plans.
  • Ability to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical components effectively.
  • Ability to operate basic hand tools and electrical measuring devices safely and accurately.
  • Knowledge of working with electrical systems at voltages up to 575V while following safety guidelines.
  • Strong understanding of test procedures and test plans for industrial or filtration systems.
  • Associate degree in electronic technology.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience testing filtration systems or similar industrial equipment.
  • Familiarity with working with water, oil, and air in a testing environment.
  • Experience supporting electrical assembly in a manufacturing or production setting.
  • Strong communication skills to interact with customers during factory acceptance tests.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy when documenting test results and findings.

Work Environment

This is an on-site role based on the shop floor in a production and testing environment. The Test Engineer works directly with filtration systems and related equipment, regularly handling water, oil, and air during testing. The position involves frequent use of basic hand tools and electrical measuring devices, including volt-amp meters, and requires working safely with electrical systems at voltages up to 575V while following established safety guidelines. The environment includes interaction with internal teams and occasional in-house customer visits for factory acceptance tests.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Pewaukee, WI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
