Description

PGS Worldwide is seeking a Test Engineer in Orlando, Florida for a one-year onsite contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company. This position will perform environmental qualification testing on complex hardware with a focus on shock, vibration, electrical troubleshooting, test-data collection, and formal technical reporting. The engineer will execute detailed test procedures, analyze real-time test data, and document results demonstrating compliance with qualification requirements.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree with 3–5 years of relevant experience, or master’s degree with 0–3 years of relevant experience.
  • 3+ years of technical writing experience.
  • 3+ years of mechanical testing experience, including shock and/or vibration testing.
  • 3+ years of electrical testing and troubleshooting experience.
  • Experience executing detailed test procedures in a disciplined testing environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate test records.
  • Ability to document test events and prepare formal technical reports.
  • Ability to analyze test results against defined objectives and requirements.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with interdisciplinary engineering teams.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience preparing and operating general-purpose test equipment such as digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies, and Data Acquisition Units (DAQ).
  • Experience with component-level environmental qualification testing.
  • Ability to understand analog signals and evaluate real-time measurement data.
  • Ability to read electrical schematics and perform electrical troubleshooting.
  • Experience collecting, organizing, and presenting detailed test data.
  • Ability to develop technical recommendations based on test results.
  • Experience presenting test results to engineering teams, management, and mixed technical audiences.
  • Strong self-directed problem-solving skills.

What You’ll Do

  • Perform shock and vibration qualification testing on system hardware.
  • Set up and operate mechanical and electrical test equipment.
  • Execute qualification testing in accordance with approved procedures and requirements.
  • Monitor test hardware and instrumentation during test events.
  • Evaluate real-time measurement data and identify abnormal conditions.
  • Perform electrical troubleshooting when test or hardware issues arise.
  • Maintain detailed logs documenting test events and results.
  • Collect, organize, and catalog test data.
  • Analyze qualification-test results against objectives and requirements.
  • Write formal technical reports documenting test execution and requirements verification.
  • Present test results, findings, and recommendations to internal stakeholders and leadership.
  • Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, systems, and other engineering disciplines throughout testing activities.

Pay

  • $58.80 per hour.
