Description

TAMKO is seeking a Territory Manager. This position is a technical sales and territory-development role responsible for applying specialized knowledge of roofing products, product specifications, installation practices, and market analytics to grow sales and support customers throughout the assigned territory. The Territory Manager evaluates market and customer data, develops and executes territory strategies, provides technical product and installation guidance. The role is responsible for driving customer satisfaction, strengthening customer relationships, and increasing profitable sales within the assigned territory. The salary range for this position is $110,000 - $120,000.

  • Analyze territory sales performance, customer purchasing patterns, competitive activity, housing and construction trends, and other market data to develop and execute annual and quarterly territory business plans, sales forecasts, and account-growth strategies.
  • Apply knowledge of roofing products, construction methods, and applicable installation requirements to advise distributors, contractors, builders, and other customers regarding product selection and proper application.
  • Participate in customer or jobsite visits, when appropriate, to observe product applications, gather information regarding installation or product-performance questions, and coordinate appropriate follow-up with TAMKO Technical Services or other qualified personnel.
  • Develop and deliver technical product demonstrations, installation training, continuing customer education, and sales presentations for contractors, distributors, builders, and other professional audiences.
  • Communicate technical, commercial, and contractual information accurately in both English and Spanish, including translating or explaining product specifications, installation instructions, warranty requirements, sales programs, and business communications for Spanish-speaking customers and contractors.
  • Build and maintain strategic relationships with distributors, contractors, builders, architects, and other key accounts; assess customer business needs and recommend product, service, and market-development solutions.
  • Use Salesforce and related sales-reporting tools to maintain account records, document customer interactions, evaluate pipeline activity, track performance against objectives, and prepare detailed reports and business correspondence.
  • Identify and qualify prospective customers using industry, construction, market, and competitive intelligence; prioritize opportunities based on market potential, technical fit, projected revenue, and strategic value.
  • Travel throughout the assigned territory to conduct customer meetings, occasional jobsite visits, product consultations, training, and sales-development activities.
  • Demonstrate TAMKO products and explain product features, performance characteristics, installation requirements, warranty terms, and value propositions using samples, specifications, technical literature, and other sales tools.
  • Develop pricing and commercial recommendations within established authority; communicate prices, credit terms, programs, and delivery expectations; and coordinate preparation and execution of sales agreements and customer commitments.
  • Collaborate with Technical Services, Marketing, Customer Service, Supply Chain, Credit, and other internal functions to resolve complex customer issues, support product launches, improve territory performance, and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Monitor relevant building practices, roofing-industry developments, competitive products, and changes in customer or market requirements, and communicate resulting business implications and recommended actions to management.
  • Represent TAMKO at trade shows, contractor events, distributor meetings, industry associations, and other market-development activities, including events serving Spanish-speaking roofing professionals.

Education and Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, construction management, business analytics, or a related field. Equivalent education and experience may be considered if it provides knowledge equivalent to the required degree.
  • Professional proficiency in both English and Spanish, including the ability to explain technical roofing, installation, warranty, and commercial information orally and in writing to Spanish-speaking customers and contractors.
  • Experience applying technical product knowledge, market analysis, and consultative sales principles in roofing, building materials, construction, or a closely related industry is preferred.
  • Ability to interpret product specifications, installation instructions, technical literature, sales and market data, and customer requirements and translate that information into practical business recommendations.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Required travel by air transportation in and out of assigned territory.
  • Position requires overnight stays away from home.
