    Territory Business Manager, Food Safety

    Remote | Western Tennessee, Arkansas, Mississippi, and Louisiana

    We are seeking an experienced, results-driven Territory Business Manager to lead growth across an established multi-state territory within Neogen's Food Safety business.

    This is a senior-level individual contributor role responsible for developing and executing territory strategy, expanding key customer relationships, identifying new business opportunities, and delivering consistent revenue growth across direct customers, channel partners, key accounts, and targeted market segments.

    The successful candidate will bring a strong understanding of food safety, consultative selling, territory development, and complex customer environments. This role requires the ability to operate independently, manage a broad geography, and partner effectively across commercial, technical, marketing, and customer-facing teams.

    Here you will make an impact by:

    • Owning the commercial strategy and overall performance of the Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Western Tennessee territory
    • Developing and executing strategic territory and account plans to achieve or exceed revenue, growth, and profitability objectives
    • Identifying, developing, and closing new business opportunities across both existing and prospective accounts
    • Managing and expanding relationships with key customers, distributors, channel partners, and strategic accounts
    • Building and maintaining a strong sales pipeline while accurately forecasting business activity and expected revenue
    • Evaluating market conditions, customer needs, and competitive activity to adjust territory strategy as needed
    • Leading complex sales opportunities from initial discovery through negotiation and close
    • Serving as a trusted business partner to customers by understanding their operational challenges and aligning Neogen solutions to their needs
    • Collaborating cross-functionally with technical, marketing, customer service, operations, and other commercial teams to support customer success and long-term growth

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Independently manage and grow business across a defined multi-state geography
    • Develop strategic relationships with current customers while actively prospecting for new business
    • Create account strategies for high-value and high-potential customers
    • Drive sales through consultative and solution-based selling approaches
    • Identify customer needs, challenges, and business priorities and recommend appropriate Neogen solutions
    • Manage multiple opportunities simultaneously through various stages of the sales cycle
    • Maintain accurate pipeline, forecast, account, and customer activity information within the CRM
    • Monitor territory performance and use data to identify trends, risks, and growth opportunities
    • Prepare and deliver technical and business presentations, product demonstrations, webinars, and customer training
    • Prepare responses to RFPs, RFIs, and other customer requests
    • Negotiate pricing and commercial terms within established guidelines
    • Maintain strong knowledge of Neogen products, applications, competitive offerings, and market trends
    • Gather and communicate competitive intelligence related to pricing, products, market positioning, and customer activity
    • Attend trade shows, conferences, customer meetings, and industry events
    • Represent Neogen professionally within customer environments including manufacturing facilities, laboratories, warehouses, and production areas
    • Demonstrate and explain appropriate product applications, installation techniques, and best practices
    • Partner with internal stakeholders to resolve customer concerns and support long-term account retention
    • Share market insights and customer feedback to help inform broader commercial and business strategies

    Basic Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Microbiology, Biology, Food Science, another scientific discipline, Business, Sales, or a related field preferred
    • 5+ years of professional sales experience, preferably within food safety, food manufacturing, life sciences, or a related industry
    • Strong knowledge of food safety, food manufacturing, or related industries
    • Knowledge of the poultry industry preferred
    • Demonstrated success managing a complex sales territory
    • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales goals and forecast expectations
    • Experience developing new business while expanding existing accounts
    • Strong strategic territory planning and account management capabilities
    • Experience working with distributors, channel partners, or key accounts preferred
    • Ability to manage complex customer relationships and sales cycles
    • Strong consultative and solution-selling skills
    • Excellent communication, negotiation, presentation, and relationship-building abilities
    • Strong business acumen, analytical thinking, and attention to detail
    • Ability to work independently, prioritize effectively, and manage competing business needs
    • Experience using Salesforce or another Customer Relationship Management platform
    • Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office
    • Ability to collaborate effectively across multiple internal teams and functions

    Travel and Physical Requirements

    • Ability to travel frequently throughout the assigned territory to support customers, develop new business, and attend industry events
    • Domestic travel may include up to 75%
    • Ability to perform essential job functions in a variety of customer environments, including manufacturing facilities, laboratories, warehouses, and production areas
    • Must be able to occasionally lift, carry, push, or move items weighing up to 40 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation
