Terminal Manager
About the Role
RenewGas Transportation is seeking an experienced
Terminal Manager to lead the daily operations of our Oakfield, New York terminal. This position reports directly to senior management and is responsible for maintaining safe, efficient, and compliant terminal operations while supporting a growing fleet and driver workforce.
We are looking for a hands-on leader with trucking and terminal management experience who can motivate a team, solve problems proactively, and take ownership of terminal performance. The ideal candidate is a self-starter, comfortable working independently, and capable of building a positive culture focused on safety, accountability, and operational excellence.
A Class A CDL with Hazmat and Tanker Endorsement is required. Experience with CNG transportation equipment, compressed gas trailers, or RNG operations is a plus but not required.
What We're Looking For
The successful candidate will possess:
- Previous terminal management, trucking operations, or transportation leadership experience.
- Valid Class A CDL with Hazmat Endorsement (required).
- Strong understanding of trucking operations, dispatch, driver supervision, and terminal management.
- Basic mechanical knowledge and the ability to identify equipment and trailer maintenance issues.
- Experience working with maintenance teams to coordinate repairs and preventative maintenance.
- Strong leadership skills with a proven ability to build and lead a high-performing team.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
- A willingness to adapt, improve processes, and grow with a rapidly expanding company.
- Ability to travel periodically to support operations at other RenewGas locations throughout the Northeast.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
- Oversee all day-to-day operations at the Oakfield terminal.
- Ensure safe, efficient, and compliant execution of daily transportation activities.
- Monitor terminal performance and proactively address operational issues.
- Support dispatch, logistics, and driver operations to ensure customer expectations are exceeded.
- Establish and maintain operational procedures and best practices.
Team Leadership
- Lead, coach, and develop terminal employees and drivers.
- Foster a culture of safety, accountability, professionalism, and teamwork.
- Conduct employee coaching, performance discussions, and training activities.
- Ensure all employees operate in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
Fleet & Equipment Oversight
- Monitor the condition, readiness, and availability of trucks, trailers, and terminal equipment.
- Work closely with the Maintenance Manager to coordinate preventative maintenance schedules, repairs, inspections, and equipment readiness.
- Identify equipment issues before they impact operations and communicate maintenance needs promptly.
- Support fleet uptime and operational efficiency through effective coordination with maintenance personnel and vendors.
Safety & Compliance
- Maintain compliance with FMCSA, DOT, OSHA, and Hazmat regulations.
- Conduct routine terminal inspections and safety reviews.
- Ensure drivers and equipment remain compliant with company and regulatory requirements.
- Promote a strong safety culture through training, accountability, and leadership.
Customer & Business Support
- Develop positive relationships with customers, vendors, and business partners.
- Represent RenewGas professionally during customer interactions.
- Assist with problem resolution and customer service inquiries.
- Support leadership with reporting, budgeting, and operational planning.
Qualifications
Required
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum 3 years of trucking, transportation, terminal, or operational leadership experience.
- Valid Class A CDL with Hazmat Endorsement.
- Strong working knowledge of trucking operations and dispatch processes.
- Proven leadership and team management abilities.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions.
Preferred
- Previous Terminal Manager experience.
- Experience supervising drivers and transportation personnel.
- Knowledge of FMCSA, DOT, OSHA, and Hazmat regulations.
- Experience using Samsara or other ELD and fleet management systems.
- Familiarity with CNG transportation equipment, compressed gas trailers, or RNG operations.
Expectations for Hours & Travel
- Full-time salaried position.
- Typical schedule will be Monday through Friday; however, operational needs may occasionally require after-hours or weekend availability.
- Must be willing to travel periodically to support operations at other Northeastern terminals and company locations.
- All company-required travel expenses will be paid by RenewGas Transportation.
Compensation & Benefits
Salary Range: $90,000 - $110,000 annually, based on qualifications and experience.
