A logistics and transportation organization in Houston is seeking a self-motivated Terminal Manager capable of thriving in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. This leader will oversee all facility operations, ensuring performance meets or exceeds customer expectations and internal goals. The Terminal Manager is accountable for the safe execution of daily operational plans, resource allocation, team leadership, communication flow, and compliance with key processes while achieving safety, quality, efficiency, and financial targets.

Ensure the operations team communicates effectively and professionally with internal teams, customers, agents, and partner stations regarding freight status, capacity, costs, and availability
Analyze and audit daily reports to identify performance trends, opportunities, savings, and efficiency improvements
Lead, motivate, and support a team in a time?sensitive environment; coach and develop employees to meet operational needs
Implement process improvements as needed
Maintain communication with management regarding service failures, issues, and OSDs; develop sustainable corrective procedures
Promote effective conflict resolution and quality control
Ensure proper staffing levels and oversee hiring, onboarding, training, and employee development
Enforce company policies and safety standards in accordance with OSHA requirements
Ensure shipment documentation is complete, accurate, and properly stored
Perform physical tasks as needed, including standing, lifting, and squatting
Audit shipment lifecycles, review rates and charges, and adjust as directed
Supervise daily receiving schedules and direct drivers
Manage conflict resolution within the team
Five (5) years of management experience
Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
Strong leadership skills with experience coaching and developing others
Professional communication and conflict?resolution abilities
Proficiency with MS Office and freight operating systems (e.g., AS400, TMW, Alpha Truck, Freight Data)
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Detail?oriented decision?maker with a customer?focused mindset
Ability to work in a fast?paced, high?volume environment
Willingness to work extended hours, including nights or weekends
Ability to perform repetitive tasks and lift up to 50 lbs
Relevant experience may include transportation, logistics, warehouse operations, dispatching, intermodal, linehaul, or customer service
Five (5) or more years of successful managerial and operational experience
Familiarity with internal policies and procedures
This role primarily operates in an indoor office environment, with periodic work on dock or shop floors. Conditions may include exposure to noise, vibration, odors, temperature changes, weather elements, varied surfaces, confined areas, and petroleum?based products.
The position requires extended periods of sitting or standing while using office equipment. The employee must be able to speak, hear, give and receive instructions, and occasionally reach, stretch, crouch, or stoop. Occasional lifting or pushing/pulling may be required.
