Titan America, LLC is a leading, vertically integrated producer of cement and construction materials in the eastern United States, with operations spanning cement plants, distribution terminals, ready-mix concrete, aggregates, and fly ash processing facilities.

Responsibilities:

The Opportunity

Titan Mid-Atlantic is seeking a well-rounded Terminal Manager to lead a high-volume, rail-served cement distribution facility in Castle Hayne, NC.

This role is accountable for the full performance of the terminal—safety, service, cost, reliability, and people. It is neither a desk-only management role nor a purely field-based role. Success requires a leader who can move effectively between the floor and the office: driving execution in the operation while managing the administrative, financial, and compliance responsibilities that support a well-run site.

The Terminal Manager leads a stand-alone operation with no co-located functional support and is expected to deliver results by independently prioritizing work and leveraging internal and external resources, including contractor support, to meet operational and business objectives.

What You’ll Own

  • Safe, compliant, and efficient operation of a multi-shift cement terminal
  • Rail and truck logistics execution
  • Equipment reliability, maintenance execution, and overall site upkeep
  • Inventory control and accuracy
  • Operating and maintenance costs, budgeting, and financial discipline
  • Customer service performance and issue resolution
  • Team leadership, development, and workforce effectiveness
  • Site standards including housekeeping, environmental controls, and general facility condition

What Success Looks Like (12–18 Months)

  • Strong, consistent safety performance with visible team engagement
  • Reliable railcar unloading and truck loading operations
  • Well-maintained equipment and site with reduced unplanned downtime
  • Proactive maintenance practices using internal capability and contractor support effectively
  • Accurate, disciplined inventory management
  • Dependable service to customers and carriers
  • Clear cost control with measurable operational improvements
  • A stable, accountable team with clear expectations and follow-through
  • Organized, timely, and accurate administrative and compliance execution

Core Areas of Accountability

Safety, Environmental & Site Leadership

  • Establish and maintain a strong safety culture through visible leadership and daily engagement
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and company standards
  • Maintain high standards for housekeeping, grounds, and environmental controls
  • Lead incident response, investigations, and corrective actions

Terminal Operations (Rail & Truck)

  • Own daily terminal operations including railcar unloading, truck loading and ticketing, material handling, and inventory flow
  • Coordinate rail activities including car availability, spotting, dwell, and releases
  • Align inbound and outbound movements with operational and customer requirements
  • Improve safety, flow, and reliability through disciplined execution

Maintenance, Reliability & Asset Stewardship

  • Own all maintenance and repair activities, including preventive maintenance, corrective work, and reliability improvement
  • Apply practical mechanical judgment to troubleshoot issues and guide repair decisions
  • Plan and oversee maintenance work using a combination of internal effort and external contractors
  • Ensure contractor work is properly scoped, safely executed, and cost-effective
  • Maintain overall site condition, infrastructure, and equipment consistent with an industrial facility
  • Make practical tradeoff decisions between cost, risk, and operational impact

Team Leadership & Workforce Management

  • Build and lead a capable, accountable terminal team
  • Manage hiring, onboarding, training, and ongoing development
  • Set clear expectations for performance, behavior, and safety
  • Provide consistent coaching and feedback to reinforce standards
  • Maintain a professional, fair, and disciplined work environment through consistent expectations and follow-through, in partnership with HR
  • Develop bench strength to support continuity and performance

Administrative & Business Management

  • Ensure accurate and timely execution of administrative processes
  • Maintain operating procedures, training records, and compliance documentation
  • Coordinate vendors, contractors, and service providers
  • Use systems, reporting, and documentation to maintain strong operational control and support decision-making

Cost Management & Continuous Improvement

  • Manage controllable operating and maintenance costs with a cost-conscious mindset
  • Identify and prioritize practical improvement opportunities
  • Lead improvements from concept through execution and sustainment
  • Focus on reducing risk, improving reliability, simplifying work, and lowering total cost
Qualifications:

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required
(Associate’s degree or coursework in business, operations, logistics, or a related field is a plus but not required)
  • 3–5 years of experience in industrial or asset‑intensive operations, such as terminal, bulk material handling, manufacturing support, rail‑served facilities, or distribution operations with responsibility for equipment, workflow, and site conditions
  • Progressive leadership responsibility, including experience directing work, setting expectations, addressing performance issues, or leading teams in a safety‑sensitive environment
(Formal supervisory experience is preferred; demonstrated readiness to assume full team leadership responsibilities will also be considered.)
  • Working knowledge of day‑to‑day operational execution, such as scheduling, dispatch or rail coordination, equipment utilization, and workflow management
  • General understanding of safety and regulatory requirements (OSHA, DOT, environmental or company standards), with the expectation to learn, enforce, and lead by example
  • Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and operational systems
  • Strong communication skills with employees, contractors, drivers, customers, and management
  • Demonstrated ability to solve problems, prioritize work, and adapt in a dynamic operating environment
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends or on‑call responsibilities as required by operations

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in a hands‑on industrial terminal, warehouse, or transportation environment
  • Experience supervising hourly employees or coordinating shift‑based work
  • Exposure to equipment maintenance, contractor coordination, fleet operations, or yard / site management
  • Familiarity with cost awareness, productivity tracking, or performance metrics
  • Experience operating in a safety‑driven, regulated environment with strong site standards
