    Preferred Qualifications

    Demonstrated excellence in teaching at the undergraduate and graduate level. Demonstrated excellence in research and other scholarly activity. Experience in teaching mechatronics, dynamic systems, vibrations, and controls.

    Job Specific Required Qualifications

    Ph.D. in Mechanical, Electrical, or Aerospace Engineering, or closely related field. ABD with completion by time of appointment will be considered. Ability to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in dynamic systems and mechatronics. Ability to complement at least one of our existing strengths, such as advanced mobility, autonomous systems, new energy, crash safety, or related areas. Ability to use modern engineering tools for teaching and research. Ability to develop an externally funded applied-research program. Demonstrated written and oral communication skills in the English language. Ability and desire to contribute through department, university, community, and professional service work.

    Evidence of research for Assistant/Associate Professor and/or industrial applications of mechatronics and dynamic systems for Professor of the Practice.

    Job Duties

    Teaching and Learning (45% of total time)

    • Duties: Teaching and learning duties, including course laboratories and curriculum development, student projects, professional development, aiming at enhancing student learning and best practices in teaching and learning.

    Research and Scholarship (35% of total time)

    • Duties: This includes establishing a research program appropriate for Kettering University and aligned with the teacher-scholar model. Also, it is expected that faculty involve students in research projects, publish their research and scholarship work in peer-reviewed journals, as well as presentations in conferences.

    Service and Citizenship (20% of total time)

    • Duties: This includes service activities within the department, the institution, the profession, and the community.
