    About the Department

    The Department of Cyber and Computer Sciences includes 7 full-time and 7 adjunct faculty members. It offers:

    • Research on Aerial Defense in Unmanned Systems (RADIUS) Lab

    Since 2016, The Citadel has been designated a National Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense by the National Security Agency (NSA). The B.S. in Computer Science program is accredited by the Computing Accreditation Commission of ABET, under the commission's General Criteria and Program Criteria for Computer Science.

    Position Responsibilities

    Responsibilities include:

    • Teaching undergraduate courses in cyber operations and computer science
    • Teaching graduate courses in computer and information sciences or cybersecurity (Assistant Professor)
    • Typical teaching load: 12 contact hours/week (Assistant Professor), 15 hours/week (Instructor)
    • Student advising, scholarly activity, and service to the institution

    The Citadel supports faculty development with internal funding for research, travel, and professional growth.

    Qualifications

    For Tenure-Track Assistant Professor

    • Doctoral degree in Computer Science, Cyber Operations, or closely related field (Required)
    • Strong aptitude for teaching in Cyber Operations (Required)
    • Engage students in scholarly research (Required)
    • Ability to teach core computer science courses (Preferred)

    For Instructor

    • Master's degree in Computer Science, Cyber Operations, or closely related field (Required)
    • Strong aptitude for teaching in Cyber Operations (Required)
    • Ability to teach core computer science courses (Preferred)
