Position: 3rd Grade Teacher - Maternity Leave

North Miami Community Schools is seeking a qualified and dependable individual to serve as a Third Grade Teacher during a maternity leave. The successful candidate will provide instruction in core subject areas, maintain established classroom routines and expectations, and support students in continuing their academic progress throughout the teacher's absence.
Primary Responsibilities
- Provide daily instruction in third-grade subject areas using lesson plans, curriculum materials, and resources provided by the classroom teacher.
- Maintain a safe, organized, and positive classroom learning environment.
- Assess student learning, provide feedback, and maintain accurate student grades and records.
- Manage student behavior in accordance with North Miami Community Schools' expectations and policies.
- Communicate with students, families, staff, and administration as needed.
- Provide appropriate supervision of students during classroom instruction, transitions, and other assigned activities.
- Follow all school policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
- Maintain continuity of instruction and classroom expectations throughout the maternity leave.
- Perform other duties normally associated with the teaching assignment as directed by building administration.
Qualifications
- Classroom teaching experience preferred
- Ability to create a positive, supportive, and engaging learning environment.
- Willingness to follow established curriculum, lesson plans, procedures, and classroom expectations.
- Must meet all employment requirements of North Miami Community Schools.
Position Information
This is a temporary position covering a maternity leave, expected to run approximately January 4 through March 15. Specific dates and additional responsibilities will be discussed with qualified applicants.
