Job Summary
The Temporary Senior Director of Community Giving will provide immediate day-to-day leadership and operational oversight for the Community Giving team through the end of 2026.
The role will focus on successfully executing fundraising activities for the YMCA of Greater Seattle's 150th anniversary Changemakers Gala on October 10, strengthening accountability across the Directors of Philanthropy, and establishing consistent systems for portfolio management, goal setting, activity tracking, forecasting, and reporting.
Reporting to the Chief Development Officer, this leader will bring structure and urgency to a fast-moving environment, ensure staff complete clearly assigned work, address performance and execution gaps, and provide reliable weekly and monthly updates to organizational leadership.

Minimum compensation for this role is $108,000-115,000 per annum, pro-rated for length of contract
Contract term: ASAP - January 4th, 2027
Responsibilities
Oversee Community Giving activities related to sponsorships, tables, tickets, donor outreach, auction procurement, fund-a-need participation, and other revenue-generating assignments.
Translate fundraising goals into clear staff assignments, deadlines, and weekly activity expectations.
Ensure each Director of Philanthropy has a documented portfolio, prospect list, outreach plan, financial goal, and next steps.
Track commitments from initial outreach through payment, registration, stewardship, and event readiness.
Maintain a master Changemakers tracker identifying progress, outstanding commitments, responsible staff, deadlines, risks, and next actions.
Coordinate with the Chief Development Officer, Senior Director of Financial Development, and other organizational partners to resolve issues and maintain alignment.
Provide weekly reports on revenue secured and pending, completed activity, outstanding work, performance concerns, and decisions requiring escalation.

Qualifications
Seven or more years of progressively responsible fundraising, development, nonprofit leadership, sales management, or related experience.
Experience directly supervising fundraising or revenue-generating staff and holding them accountable for measurable goals.
Demonstrated success managing fundraising campaigns, galas, sponsorships, donor portfolios, corporate giving, or annual giving.
Strong ability to translate financial goals into specific staff assignments, timelines, and performance measures.
Experience developing fundraising dashboards, forecasts, scorecards, and leadership reports.
Exceptional organization, project management, judgment, communication, and follow-through.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and move between team leadership, strategy, coordination, and detailed execution.
Intermediate computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office suite.
Ability to maintain confidential information and use discretion.
Ability to work in a highly collaborative environment.
Ability to visit sites and community organizations.
