    The Child Watch Staff provides safe, attentive, and developmentally appropriate supervision for children ages 2 to 6 years old while parents and guardians utilize Eastway Regional Recreation Center amenities. This role ensures a welcoming, secure, and engaging environment that supports positive experiences for families and aligns with Mecklenburg County's youth‑serving standards.

    Child Watch operates on a structured schedule to meet family needs:

    Monday-Thursday: Two sessions daily (8:00 AM - 12:00 PM and 4:30 PM - 7:30 PM)

    Friday: Morning session (8:00 AM - 12:00 PM)

    Saturday: Morning session (9:00 AM - 12:00 PM)

    Sunday: No Child Watch services offered

    Key responsibilities include:

    Child supervision - maintaining sight‑and‑sound awareness, enforcing check‑in/check‑out procedures, and upholding required ratios for ages 2-6.

    Activity engagement - facilitating simple crafts, imaginative play, and social interaction appropriate for early childhood development.

    Safety & incident response - following emergency protocols, documenting incidents, and using approved redirection and behavior‑management techniques.

    Customer service - greeting families, communicating child needs or concerns, and representing Eastway's service standards.

    Environment upkeep - maintaining a clean, organized, and sanitized play space according to center procedures.

    Team collaboration - supporting recreation operations, assisting with coverage, and communicating effectively with supervisors and coworkers.
