Job Summary

Kutztown University of Pennsylvania enrolls approximately 7,500 students across its graduate and undergraduate programs. Located in a charming rural setting in Kutztown, Pennsylvania, the University is just a 20-minute drive from the metropolitan areas of Allentown/Bethlehem and Reading, and about an hour from the Philadelphia metropolitan area. The University seeks to hire employees with experience working with diverse populations.

The Department of Music at Kutztown University is accepting applications for part-time, non-tenure track positions to teach Cello beginning Fall 2026. This positions can be eligible for rollover and are not a one-year replacement position such as for a sabbatical. The candidate may perform other duties as assigned.

In accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement, performance review and evaluation of faculty is based on effective teaching and fulfillment of professional responsibilities; continuing scholarly growth; and service.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelors degree in music with fifteen semester hours of graduate credit, with at least three years of teaching experience, or a masters degree in music with one year of teaching experience. Degree requirements include Music, Music Theory, Music Composition, Music Performance, Music Education, or a related music field, and one academic year of related teaching experience.

Candidates are required to successfully complete the interview process, including demonstration of teaching and performance ability to be considered a finalist.

The Department of Music is part of the College of Visual and Performing Arts at Kutztown University and serves over 240 music majors across 6-degree programs.
