    What You'll Do

    As a Maintenance Assistant, you'll play a vital role in maintaining a safe and comfortable environment by:

    • Performing routine maintenance and repairs throughout the facility.
    • Conducting preventative maintenance on building systems and equipment.
    • Completing required facility inspections and maintenance logs, including water temperatures, call lights, generators, and fire alarm systems.
    • Troubleshooting maintenance issues and completing repairs in a timely manner.
    • Assisting with the upkeep of the facility grounds and exterior areas.
    • Coordinating maintenance activities with other departments to minimize disruption to resident care.
    • Reporting supply needs, equipment concerns, and repair recommendations to the Maintenance Supervisor.
    • Assisting with the orientation and training of new maintenance team members as needed.
    • Supporting the Maintenance Department and serving as a resource in the absence of the Maintenance Supervisor.
    • Participating in required training, staff meetings, and quality improvement initiatives.
    • Performing other maintenance-related duties as assigned.

    What We're Looking For

    • Previous maintenance experience in healthcare, long-term care, commercial facilities, or a similar environment preferred.
    • General knowledge of building maintenance, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical systems.
    • Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment.
    • Ability to read, write, and follow written and verbal instructions.
    • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
    • Reliable attendance and punctuality.
    • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with other departments.
    • Ability to safely perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.

    Hiring Requirements

    • Ability to pass a background check.
    • Ability to pass a drug screening.
    • Must comply with all applicable health and safety requirements.
