    Position Summary:

    Nine (9) month undergraduate nontenure-track faculty position in the ACEN accredited A-State School of Nursing. Participation in teaching, student advising, professional service is expected; scholarly activity desired. This position is full-time at the rank of instructor.

    Duties & Responsibilities:

    Teaching Faculty:

    • Accepts delegated appropriate assignments and responsibilities
    • Accepts responsibility for assessing student learning and evaluating student learning outcomes

    Teaching:

    • Actively participates in development, revision, and evaluation of curriculum, course content, clinical experiences, and test construction
    • Is responsible for didactic courses and/or clinical group size appropriate to area of clinical practice
    • Plans and supervises clinical seminars
    • Establishes effective coordinating relationships with co-workers and clinical agencies
    • Continues education for professional growth

    Service:

    • Participates in academic advising and guidance of students
    • Maintains office hours as required by the college
    • Participates in the faculty organization and appropriate program, college and university activities
    • Sponsors and promotes planned activities of students, program, college and university as requested
    • Contributes to the community through involvement in and/or consultation to health related organizations, board memberships, or professional presentations to the public
    • Participates in planning for the continued growth and progress of the program through faculty and student recruitment and retention efforts
    • Holds membership and participates in organizations that advance the profession of nursing and advanced practice nursing, such as the ANA or other professional organizations

    Other duties as assigned

    General Days/Hours:

    Monday - Friday

    Hours vary depending on teaching and/or clinical rotation assignments; faculty organization; and appropriate program, college and university activities.

    15-credit-hour teaching workload

    Academic experience preferred

    This position has been identified as a telecommuting position. The duties are performed during standard work hours of 8am-5pm at a predefined and approved work location. Individuals filling this role must have a dedicated workspace that provides privacy and security related to the work being performed. Additionally, individuals must have secure internet access with appropriate upload/download capabilities to perform the duties associated with the position. Individuals in this position will be required to review and acknowledge the Telecommuting Guidelines and Telecommuting Agreement for A-State

    Location Requirement: To be considered for this position, candidates must reside in Arkansas or a state that shares a border with Arkansas (Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Tennessee, Missouri, or Oklahoma. This residency requirement supports team collaboration, regional knowledge, and occasional in-person engagement as needed.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    Online Teaching Experience

    Minimum Qualifications:

    An earned Master of Science in Nursing Degree is required.

    Two (2) years of clinical practice as a RN

    Must be eligible for licensure to practice nursing in Arkansas

    Teaching experience required
