Temporary Events Assistant
Location: Research Triangle Park (RTP), NC
Position Type: Temporary (Immediate Hire through June 2027)
Pay Rate: $20.00 per hour
Schedule
- Friday: 4:30 PM - 8:00 PM
- Saturday: 11:00 AM - 3:30 PM
- Occasional Thursday shifts: 4:30 PM - 6:30 PM
About the Role
We are seeking an energetic, professional, and outgoing Temporary Events Assistant to support onsite events in the RTP area through June 2027. This individual will play a key role in creating a welcoming experience for guests while assisting with event setup, execution, and breakdown. The ideal candidate enjoys interacting with people, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and can serve as a knowledgeable representative of our organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with event setup, preparation, and breakdown activities
- Welcome and greet guests in a friendly and professional manner
- Assist with refreshments and ensure event spaces remain organized and presentable
- Serve as a primary point of contact for attendees, providing information and answering questions
- Represent the company professionally and positively at all times
- Create and publish social media content to promote events and engage audiences
- Support event staff with general operational needs before, during, and after events
- Help maintain a positive, engaging atmosphere for all attendees
Qualifications
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
- Professional demeanor with strong communication abilities
- Energetic, sociable, and comfortable engaging with diverse groups of people
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Reliable, punctual, and detail-oriented
- Experience with social media platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, or similar channels preferred
- Previous event, hospitality, customer service, or promotional experience is a plus

Compensation
