Job Summary
Sigma Inc. is seeking a Temporary Desktop Support Technician for a 1-month contract opportunity supporting an office relocation in downtown Boston. The Desktop Support Technician will work closely with the IT Manager to help deploy and configure approximately 62 workstations, including monitors, docking stations, peripheral devices, and related technology.
This role is ideal for a hands-on Desktop Support Technician, IT Support Specialist, Help Desk Technician, or Field Support Technician who enjoys working directly with end users and troubleshooting workstation and meeting-room technology.
Key Responsibilities
- Install and configure monitors, docking stations, and peripheral devices.
- Set up and test approximately 62 workstations.
- Assist employees with connecting laptops to docking stations.
- Troubleshoot workstation connectivity and peripheral issues.
- Test workstation and server network connectivity.
- Provide in-person technical support to end users.
- Assist with conference room and audiovisual technology.
- Connect laptops and devices to conference room equipment.
- Test meeting-room technology and troubleshoot basic AV issues.
- Support technology deployment activities related to the office move.
- Organize workstations, cables, monitors, docking stations, and other equipment.
- Follow IT deployment procedures and ensure equipment is properly installed and functioning.
- Assist the IT Manager with additional IT operational initiatives as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a closely related field.
- 2–4 years of IT/technical support experience.
- At least 1 year of desktop support experience.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work directly with end users in an onsite environment.
- Ability to install, configure, test, and troubleshoot computer peripherals.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently while following established IT procedures.

- Experience providing in-person desktop support.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Windows 11.
- Experience supporting conference room audiovisual equipment.
- Experience with meeting-room technology and presentation equipment.
- Experience supporting office relocations or large-scale workstation deployments.
- Experience with cable management and workstation organization.
- Experience with Google Workspace.
- Experience testing network connectivity and resolving basic workstation connectivity issues.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will be a hands-on Desktop Support Technician or IT Support Specialist who can quickly install workstations, connect monitors and docking stations, assist users with laptop connectivity, and troubleshoot basic hardware, network, and audiovisual issues.
Candidates with experience supporting office moves, workstation deployments, conference rooms, Windows 11, peripheral devices, and end users onsite are especially encouraged to apply.
