The firm is the cornerstone of The Stevens & Lee Companies, a platform of affiliated professional service firms that provide a full range of legal, investment banking, financial advisory, insurance risk management, public affairs and government consulting services.  Job OverviewThe primary responsibility of the Temporary Accounting Clerk is to bring cash reconciliations current across more than 100 bank accounts, spanning 10-12 financial institutions. This position plays a key role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records through detailed account analysis and reconciliation activities. ResponsibilitiesPerforms timely and accurate cash reconciliations across multiple bank accounts and financial institutionsReview client receipts and accurately post payments to client accountsVerify invoices for proper documentation and approvals prior to paymentProcess vendor payments and prioritize invoices based on payment termsPrepare and coordinate check runsReconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepanciesAudit and process corporate credit card expensesReview and process employee expense reimbursementsMaintain vendor records and update vendor information as neededRespond promptly and professionally to vendor inquiriesAllocate expenses to appropriate accounts and cost centersSupport additional accounting and finance projects as assigned Skills & CompetenciesStrong attention to detail and commitment to accuracyExcellent organizational and time management skillsAbility to multitask and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environmentProfessional written and verbal communication skillsStrong problem-solving and reconciliation abilitiesAbility to work independently and collaboratively within a teamAdaptable and flexible with changing priorities QualificationsHigh school diploma required, Business or Accounting degree preferred1-3 years of cash reconciliation experience in a fast-paced environmentProficiency in Windows-based software and Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook Job Type:Temporary, full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday-FridayAssignment is expected to last approximately 4 to 6 weeks with possibility of extension Reports to:Controller FLSA Status:Non-exempt Department:Finance Location:Reading, PA (Onsite)  In compliance with federal and state equal opportunity employment laws, The Stevens & Less Companies is an affirmative action/equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate in regard to race, color, national origin, religion, disability, age, or gender.
