    This position is located at Monadnock Gastroenterology Associates (454 Old Street)

    The Office Nurse supports the primary care providers in the delivery of health care to patients by performing a variety of activities and procedures. The Office Nurse (RN) teaches and directs other clinical support staff (LPNs and Medical Assistants) in the performance of acts delegated to them for the implementation of the therapeutic plan of care. The Office Nurse (RN) is integrally involved in observation and care of the ill, injured, or infirm. The RN actively directs of patient flow within the office, assists in patient education and is responsible for keeping clinical areas in appropriate condition for efficient delivery of health care services.     Responsibilities:



    1.
    Prepares patients charts for following day.
    Understands risk management and HMO referral system.


    2. Prepares
    patients for examination as instructed by the provider or Clinical
    Coordinator.


    3. Notes
    history of present condition of patient in medical record or takes an
    extended history, as directed by provider.


    4. Assists
    provider(s) with all types of examinations as directed by provider(s).


    5. Administers
    injections as directed by provider or Clinical Coordinator.


    6. Removes
    sutures, cleans wounds, and applies dressing as directed by provider or
    Clinical Coordinator.


    7. Assists
    provider(s) in all special procedures.


    8. Washes
    and dries all instruments used and prepares sterilization as required.


    9. Keeps
    examining rooms, surgical rooms, cast rooms, etc., clean and maintains
    necessary supplies.


    10. Assists
    the provider in any way that will relieve the pressure on his/her time in the
    provision of health care to patients as directed by Clinical Coordinator.


    11. Receives
    and manages medically related phone calls as directed by provider(s) or
    Clinical Coordinator.


    12. Performs
    a variety of medically related tasks as directed by the provider and
    particular to his/her specialization.


    13. May
    perform other non-clinical duties as requested by the Office Manager or
    Clinical Coordinator.


    14. Appropriately
    fills out all clinical forms as needed.
