What Youll Do
- Support clinical interventions by providing rehabilitative, skilled, and medically necessary treatments to patients with cognitive or physical functioning disorders, under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist.
- Administer procedures including ADL retraining, therapeutic exercises, therapeutic activities, modalities, and supportive/assistive device use.
- Assess patient progress and communicate with supervising OT to adjust treatment plans accordingly.
- Document treatments, patient progress, and outcomes accurately in electronic health records.
- Provide consultation to patients, families, caregivers, and interdisciplinary team members regarding cognitive and physical health.
- Participate in care conferences, trainings, and team meetings as required.
- Support and supervise students under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist.
- Adhere to professional standards, including NBCOT/AOTA practice acts, codes of conduct, and state regulations.
What You Need
Required:- Active State Licensure/Registration as an Occupational Therapy Assistant
- Prior experience in long-term care or similar settings preferred
- Strong communication, organizational, and teamwork skills
Preferred:- Experience working with patients with cognitive and/or physical disorders
- Ability to work independently and as part of a healthcare team
