Temporary HR Project Specialist – I-9 Compliance (Hybrid!)

Location: Latham, NY
Pay Rate: $22–24/hour
Schedule: Monday–Friday, approximately 8:00 AM–4:30 PM or 9:00 AM–5:00 PM, with remote Fridays
Duration: Through the end of 2026

We’re seeking a detail-oriented, organized individual to support an important HR project focused on consolidating employee I-9 records into a new HR system. This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their HR career who wants to build practical experience with employment documentation, HR systems, and compliance processes.

What You’ll Do:

• Locate, organize, and upload employee I-9 records into the company’s HR system.

• Review employee records for completeness and identify missing documentation.

• Assist with follow-up efforts to obtain missing I-9 forms.

• Support a sample audit of employee I-9 records to help ensure accuracy and compliance.

• Organize employee records by location and maintain accurate documentation.

• Work independently to manage assigned tasks and meet project deadlines.

• Collaborate with HR team members to resolve documentation gaps and keep the project moving forward.

What We’re Looking For:

• Previous HR experience, internship experience, or relevant HR education.

• Familiarity with I-9 forms and employment eligibility verification preferred.

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

• Comfort working independently and managing repetitive, detail-oriented tasks.

• Proficiency with computer systems and electronic documentation.

• Strong communication skills and a proactive approach to following up on outstanding items.
