The Louisiana Educational TV Authority (also known as Louisiana Public Broadcasting - LPB) is seeking a Facilities Operations Supervisor to be a part of their Engineering team.

We're looking for a Television Engineer Supervisor (Facilities Operations Supervisor) to join our team. The supervisor will play a vital role in overseeing facility operations and equipment to ensure a high standard of facility maintenance and operational efficiency. This role involves strategic leadership, program management, and coordination with various vendors and stakeholders to maintain and enhance LPBs facilities. The Facilities Supervisor provides oversight and supervision to the Facilities Maintenance Manager A, to contract staff, and to personnel at other sites. This role oversees daily facilities operations, including preventative maintenance, major repairs, and construction projects, while ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.

Minimum Qualifications

Six years of experience in television engineering; OR

Six years of full-time work experience in any field plus three years of experience in television engineering; OR

An engineering-level certification designation from the Society of Broadcast Engineers (SBE) plus three years of experience in television engineering; OR

A bachelor's degree plus three years of experience in television engineering.

EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:

Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

Job Duties and Other Information

Job Duties:

  • Supervises facility operations and oversees the Facility Maintenance Manager.
  • Approves facility maintenance schedules and reviews completed work.
  • Manages agency fleet operations, including vehicle utilization and preventive maintenance.
  • Reviews and approves fleet usage records, mileage reimbursements, and related documentation.
  • Authorizes payments, resolves invoice discrepancies, and ensures compliance with contract terms.
  • Coordinates telecommunications equipment, services, and system modifications with the Office of Technology Management (OTM).
  • Monitors telecommunications services and expenditures, reporting discrepancies as needed.
  • Evaluates agency telecommunications usage and identifies training needs.
  • Maintains current agency telephone listings and attends required telecommunications training.
  • Designated as the agency's Assistant Property Manager for the Louisiana Property Assistance Agency (LPAA)

Preference will be given to candidates with verified work experience in the following areas:

Candidates with broad-range facility maintenance oversight

Originating contract specifications for facility construction and associated maintenance/services.

Overseeing financial and administrative functions, including budget development, accounting, procurement, vendor contracts, property control, and consumable inventory.

Work Schedule: Work hours are 8-hour days, Monday-Friday. May be required to on-call status, based on need and project scopes.

Compensation: Applicants that possess experience greater than the minimum qualifications may be considered for a salary higher than the minimum hiring rate utilizing State Civil Service Rule 6.5(g).
