Telecommunications Technician - I&R (Travel Required)

Activo now has an exciting new opportunity in the business of Mass Market Installation & Repair in Moncton, NB and surrounding areas.

We are looking for techs with a real passion for technology and a sales background to recommend solutions that enhance the overall customer experience and enjoy being a part of a growing team.

Activo is looking for passionate and enthusiastic people who will provide considerate and dedicated personalized customer service. While security and surveillance installations are a large part of our work, this position would also take on jobs that involve much more than just alarm systems and cameras. We are now delivering smart-home technology implementations, offering customized home automation solutions and helping our customers experience a truly connected home or business.

Responsibilities

• Focus on incremental Sales Opportunities during the customer install phase
• Safety-conscious and able to adhere to a highly focused safety culture
• Deliver exceptional customer experience and high-quality installations
• Install and repair support for Phone, Internet, and TV transported over fibre/copper networks
• Responsible for a geographical area to complete assigned work on a daily basis
• Self-motivated and highly organized to manage workload with minimal direction
• Be highly adaptable to constantly changing technologies, methods, and procedures
• Responsible for the installation/commissioning of Security and Surveillance/TV/Internet/Phone equipment
• Installation, termination, and testing of coax, fibre and CAT6
• You are comfortable working at heights and climbing ladders
• Ensures fall protection practices and procedures and saving techniques are in place and followed
• Understands and communicates blueprints, drawings, work orders, and RFdiagrams in order to successfully complete jobs

Qualifications

• Care about providing exceptional customer experiences, overcoming objections, and handling both favourable and unfavourable customer interactions
• Comfortable with solutions-based selling, recommending products to your customers and upselling TELUS services and products
• Previous security/alarm installation experience is an asset
• Work collaboratively in a team environment and can also work with minimal supervision
• Broad problem-solving abilities and analytical skills
• Able to maintain a high level of performance while working with time constraints in a dynamic work environment
• Normal colour vision is required to work with colour-coded wiring
• Can balance a physically demanding workload, which includes standing, lifting, climbing, bending, crawling in confined spaces and working in a variety of indoor/outdoor environments
• Able to work various shifts: days, evenings, weekends, statutory holidays, to meet business needs and customer availability, including out-of-town assignments
• Fluent in English with a clear and genuine communication style, additional languages considered beneficial
• Professional written and oral communication skills
• Natural technical aptitude and proficient knowledge of common consumer electronic devices
• Dedicated to continuous learning with the ability to learn formally and informally in a dynamic environment

• Ability to work on multiple time-sensitive projects simultaneously and effectively manage deadlines
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment
• Excellent Customer service skills

Education, Certifications & Experience

• Previous experience and/or education in telecommunications
• Pole climbing experience and work in heights are nice-to-have
• Clean and valid Class 5 Driver's License or another provincial equivalent; a driver's abstract will be needed
• High School diploma or GED
• Proven record of customer service and I&R experience
