Telnet Inc. is seeking experienced Telecom Network Installation Technicians / MDU Network Deployment Technicians to install, configure, and test network infrastructure across multi-dwelling unit (MDU) properties. This role involves installing network equipment, running and terminating Cat6a Ethernet and coaxial cabling, configuring remote terminals, testing network performance, and ensuring proper grounding and signal quality. Candidates must be comfortable working on rooftops, at heights, and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Install and mount network equipment, including Distribution Point Units (DPUs), Remote Terminals (RTs), and end-run splitters, at indoor, outdoor, and rooftop locations.
Install DPU power supplies, AC outlets when required, and standalone Power over Ethernet (PoE) injectors.
Run outdoor-rated Cat6a shielded Ethernet cabling between DPUs and remote terminals.
Terminate Cat6a shielded Ethernet cables using RJ45 connectors and follow T-568B wiring standards.
Work with existing RG6/RG11 coaxial cabling and coordinate installations around existing CATV utilities.
Install and connect coaxial distribution cables and horizontal parent/mid-run splitters.
Configure switches and remote terminals and perform network connectivity and speed tests using internal and external testing sources.
Conduct point-to-point Line-of-Sight (LoS) checks and align and path millimeter-wave (mmWave) radios.
Measure and manage coaxial signal loss, including cable loss per 100 feet and signal loss through splitters.
Develop building installation designs, splitter maps, and sub-location assignments while maintaining accurate documentation.
Follow acceptable grounding practices and established safety procedures for drilling, equipment mounting, and cable installation.
Work safely on flat and pitched rooftops, at heights, and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Use appropriate cable preparation, crimping, termination, and network testing tools to complete installations and verify performance.
Hands-on experience installing and terminating Cat6a shielded Ethernet cabling.
Experience terminating RJ45 connectors using the T-568B pinout standard.
Working knowledge of RG6/RG11 coaxial cabling and telecom distribution infrastructure.
Experience installing, configuring, or troubleshooting network switches and remote terminals.
Knowledge of Power over Ethernet (PoE), network connectivity testing, and speed testing.
Understanding of coaxial signal loss, splitter loss, and acceptable grounding practices.
Experience performing point-to-point Line-of-Sight (LoS) checks and mmWave radio aiming or alignment.
Ability to develop building network installation designs and splitter mapping documentation.
Familiarity with cable testing equipment, preferably the Fluke LinkIQ Cable Network Tester.
Knowledge of cable stripping, crimping, RJ45 termination, and safe drilling techniques.
Ability to work on flat and pitched rooftops, at heights, and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Ability to lift and carry tools, equipment, and installation materials as required.
Commitment to following workplace safety procedures and completing installations accurately.
