Your Role
Akkodis is seeking a Telecom Network Engineer for a Contract job with a client in Houston, TX (Hybrid - Monday-Thursday onsite, Friday remote). The ideal candidate must have strong experience in telecom infrastructure design and engineering, including microwave, fiber, transport networks, and critical power systems.
Rate Range: $60/hour to $64/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
Telecom Network Engineer job responsibilities include:
Design and engineer telecom systems and infrastructure, including microwave networks, OSP fiber, transport systems, and supporting facilities.
Develop and maintain engineering drawings, documentation, and work packages for deployment.
Manage projects from design through implementation handoff, ensuring timelines and budgets are met.
Provide technical support to field teams during installation and deployment activities.
Evaluate and recommend new technologies, products, and materials for system improvements.
Desired Qualifications:
(or equivalent experience in telecom engineering).
Strong experience in telecom infrastructure, including:
Microwave (PTP/PTMP, licensed/unlicensed)
OSP Fiber networks
Shelters, towers, racks, and DC power/backup systems
Experience managing multiple telecom projects simultaneously.
Ability to read and develop technical drawings and engineering specifications.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with telecom compliance.
Background in RFP creation, vendor evaluation, and contract support
Experience with network upgrades, system enhancements, and long-term planning
Strong troubleshooting and problem-resolution skills in critical telecom systems

Pay Details: $60.00 to $64.00 per hour
