Primary location is Vacaville and Remote with some travel to other State Fund Locations

12 Months Contract

Must Haves-

• MSTeams and MSTeams Telephony migration
• Contact Center Solution (FIVE9, GLIA)
• Proficient networking experience
• Project Management.
• OPTIONAL: AVAYA telephony.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelor''s or Master''s degree in Computer Science or related field.

• 8+ years of telecom experience.

• 3+ years of technical leadership experience in CCaaS and UCaaS environments.

• Hands-on expertise with:

• Microsoft Teams Telephony (setup, administration, support)

• Five9 Contact Center (implementation, migration)

• Networking (routing, firewall, etc.)

• GLIA, RightFax, EtherFax

• Experience in:

• Contact Center operations and administration

• IVR call flows, call routing

• Telecom security and compliance

• Working knowledge of Windows OS, server patching (Windows/Linux), and reporting tools.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certifications in Microsoft Teams, Five9, or GLIA.
• Prior experience in the insurance industry.
• Experience with Telecom architecture design and innovation processes.

Job Summary:

State Compensation Insurance Fund is seeking a highly skilled Telecom Engineer to lead and support the administration and provisioning of telecom services across the organization. This includes AVAYA, Microsoft Teams Telephony, Five9 Contact Center, IVR, VoIP services, UCaaS, CCaaS, and telecom security compliance. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise, strong communication skills, and a collaborative approach to managing complex telecommunication systems in a hybrid/remote environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Administer and manage telecom solutions including Microsoft Teams Telephony, Five9, and VoIP.
• Lead/assist in the migration of existing telephony systems to modern platforms.
• Design and implement integrated telecom products in collaboration with other engineers.
• Support remote telecom services for a distributed workforce.
• Maintain and configure IVR, call routing, fax services (RightFax, EtherFax), and contact center technologies.
• Evaluate telecom technologies and provide recommendations based on industry trends.
• Document architecture and design solutions, conduct unit testing, and maintain system standards.
• Cross-train State Fund telecom staff on implemented technologies.
• Provide input and feedback on best practices, architectural standards, and project approaches.
• Participate in project management activities and provide accurate work estimates.
