QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum High School Diploma or GED with a minimum of five (5) years progressive experience in the field of Information Technology or possession of a Bachelor's Degree in computer related studies and/or equivalent experience is preferred; experience in IT project management which includes planning, scheduling, staffing, coordinating, controlling, monitoring, evaluating and reporting on status of IT projects; excellent organizational and customer service skills; excellent verbal and written communication skills; proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel); experience with working on an ERP system is preferred; experience with purchasing, budgeting and contracts is preferred.

    TECHNOLOGY ASSOCIATE

    DUTIES AND FEATURES OF THE CLASS:

    This position is responsible for the daily operations in support of, and not limited to, a large scale, complex, department level mobile voice/data network, purchasing, management of all contracts and some helpdesk functions. The incumbent is expected to exercise independent judgment in the management of multiple projects. Work requires the exercise of considerable professional skill, initiative, and judgment.

    REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

    Ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and document mobile voice/data and some desktop hardware related issues; extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Publisher, Excel and Access); ability to be on call for afterhours support; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with County staff, department heads, elected officials, vendors, representatives from other agencies and the general public; strong project management skills.
