JOB DESCRIPTION:
SUMMARY
The Tech Supervisor is responsible for supervising and coordinating activities in the operation of plastic injection molding machines, secondary equipment, packaging processes and assembly operations.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
• Reviews the schedule daily and formulates a plan to complete the schedule in the required time.
• Conduct shift-start meeting to review the previous day’s results (safety, quality, productivity) and give direction regarding the current day goals and priorities.
• Monitor and ensure all employees are working safely and following all safety regulations.
• Responsible for mold changes (scheduling staff), mold process control, productivity, part quality, safety, cleanliness and organization.
• Walks through the assigned work areas to verify status and visually checks for facility and/or equipment damage at the beginning and end of workday.
• Provide clear and concise assignment of work to employees (planned quantities based upon standards).
• Provide feedback to the employees as a group or individually on the status of an action plan brought to their attention.
• Understand and uphold the process and work procedures to ensure the quality of the product specifications.
• Examines work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures.
• Monitor all quality issues and make necessary adjustments to correct.
• Issue corrective actions relative to established processes or procedures.
• Perform follow-up and resolution of all plan variances.
• Understand and properly utilize the Management Operating System (MOS) tools.
• Responsible to maintain a clean and safe work area. Will work with other shifts to resolve housekeeping issues.
• Perform daily Prism transaction required for recording and tracking of production.
• Trains production personnel in performing requirements of job per established guidelines as directed by the plant manager.
• Frequents tasks in set-up, startup, processing, and troubleshooting.
• Maintain reliable and consistent attendance, including being punctual, and dependable in order to meet the needs of the department and the organization.
• Execute each essential duty satisfactorily in order to perform job successfully.
• Follows all safety procedures required in work area, wears PPE as needed, attends all safety meetings, and reports safety issues regarding equipment or unsafe/hazardous conditions.
• Performs effectively as a team member, able to work well with others, open to receive and give feedback, and treats everyone with respect.
• Takes ownership of own work and behavior, accepts accountability for own actions, encourages solutions, and communicates status of work/projects.
• Follow all department quality standards/criteria. Raise concerns and issues to immediate manager.
• Able to understand and demonstrate Cambro company culture, display company core values (Safety, Quality, Respect, and Service).
• Understands department’s key performance indicators and contributes to achieve these goals both individually and as a team.
• Other duties as needed or required.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
• Act as back-up shift manager as needed
• Must be able to work overtime as needed, remain flexible and open to possible schedule changes in order to meet business needs.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Working knowledge of Prism, Intermec, AS400 system, as well as a basic understanding of Microsoft Word and Excel. Be able to use the M.O.S. guidelines to identify variances and develop in line action plans to overcome obstacles to achieve the targeted standards.
• Ability to read, write and fill out reports, comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and e-mails in English. Ability to write correspondence, and documentation in English, also speak effectively in front of groups of people, coworkers, and suppliers. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and procedure manuals.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
• Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. Use appropriate judgment to monitor safety in the area the Technician Supervisor is leading and report any findings to the shift manager in a timely manner.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Technical or scientific molding certification (RJG master molding or similar)
• Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma or similar theories
