How to contribute to our vision
This Technician Resource Manager role is being established as a replacement to ensure business continuity within the Resources Operations 2 team, part of Gas Services North America. The position is critical for managing a large field service team to maintain operational stability and service delivery for gas turbine operations. To meet these objectives, the role is structured around two primary functions: Technician Resource Management and Team Leadership & Development. This focus ensures efficient deployment of technical staff to customer sites while simultaneously fostering the skills and career progression of the team members. Given the focus on workforce optimization and team growth, the ideal candidate will possess significant experience in managing large technical teams, specifically in resource scheduling, dispatch, and professional development. A background in a field service or engineering environment is essential for success in this leadership position.
What You Need To Make a Difference
As a technician manager, you work alongside three other managers to oversee a team of 150 technicians. During outage season, your primary responsibilities include scheduling and dispatching technicians to various jobs. Once the technicians are on-site, you follow up with them to ensure everything is progressing smoothly. Additionally, you coordinate with the project manager (PM) at the job site to confirm that the outage is on schedule, allowing you to plan the technicians' next assignments accordingly. In the off-season, your focus shifts to maintaining the technicians' certifications, organizing any necessary training and having performance reviews with your direct reports. Following this, you concentrate on recruiting and onboarding new technicians
