Technician - Maintenance

Position Type: Full-Time, Hourly

Pay: $33.00/hr (pending experience)

Schedule - Training will be 06:00am to 02:00pm, then shift will be 09:00am - 05:00pm

As a Maintenance Technician at ProAmpac Tigard, you'll be a key part in keeping production running safely and efficiently. This role is focused on rapid response, troubleshooting, and equipment uptime.

• Responding quickly to equipment breakdowns and restoring machines to service as efficiently and safely as possible
• Performing preventive and corrective maintenance on production equipment and facility systems
• Troubleshooting mechanical and basic electrical issues (motors, sensors, switches, wiring and controls as applicable)
• Supporting pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems used in production equipment
• Diagnosing and resolving day-to-day equipment issues on the production floor
• Completing work orders and prioritizing tasks based on production downtime and urgency
• Collaborating with production staff to quickly identify and resolve equipment problems
• Maintaining accurate maintenance records in work order systems
• Following all safety procedures and maintaining a clean and safe work environment
• Identifying longer-term improvement opportunities when time allows, but primary focus is keeping equipment running today.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent, technical training is a plus
• Experience of 3 or more years working with machinery, equipment, internal/external facilities maintenance required.
• Experience with manufacturing facilities
• Ability to read technical manuals, schematics and mechanical drawings
• Solid working knowledge of general carpentry, plumbing, HVAC, electrical
• Exceptional time management and organization skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, establishing priorities to meet deadlines
• Ability to communicate effectively (verbal, written, and presentations) with executive leadership, staff, and internal external clients.
• Proactive; exercises sound judgement and decision making; able to identify problems and needs and develop solutions and/or options
• Experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point) Outlook mail and calendar
• Self-confident, self-motivated polished professional who thrives in a challenging, fast-paced environment.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

• Work primarily in a manufacturing or warehouse environment
• Exposure to moving machinery, production noise, and varying temperatures may occur
• Employees may be exposed to non-toxic/nuisance smells from chemical, airborne dust
• Required PPE includes hearing protection, steel/composite shoes, eye protection, hair/beard nets.
• Follow all safety protocols.
• This role routinely uses standard repair and maintenance tools and utilizes office equipment such as computers and phones
• Regularly required to stand, walk, and use hands/fingers to type, handle, materials or operate equipment.
• Ability to bend, stretch, reach, stand, sit, crawl and climb
• Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds as needed
• Strong teamwork mindset with safety-first attitude
