    The opportunity:

    The Opportunity:

    The IT Support Technician is a customer service-oriented professional who provides technical support across 6 Gildan manufacturing facilities in North Carolina.  The work environment is fully automated, state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities that operate on a 24/7 schedule.  There are approximately 1600 employees across the division.  The IT Support Technician reports to the Sr. Manager, IT Support.  This role will be positioned in either our Salisbury, Mocksville, or Sanford NC facility and regular travel to other manufacturing locations is required.

     

    The Role:

    • Provide IT support to users across the division, including reviewing and completing helpdesk tickets, or redirecting tickets that require a different level or type of support.
    • Maintain IT hardware and software systems to ensure Gildan standards are met.
    • Maintain hardware inventories and prepare new hardware for deployment as needed.
    • Support special projects or initiatives, as needed.
    • Provide support to other IT teams by troubleshooting or performing operations on site when needed for maintenance tasks or problem resolution.
    • Serve as a point of contact for IT related vendors at the facilities when necessary and provide support and supervision of vendors on site, as necessary.

     

    The Requirements:

    • AS or BS Degree in Information Technology/Information Systems or related field
    • Minimum 3 years’ experience in related IT field
    • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
    • Strong problem-solving skills
    • Ability to communicate at all levels of the organization
    • Strong proficiency in MS365
    • Up to 50% travel will be required to help support our North Carolina based Yarn Spinning facilities. (This travel is mostly day trips and involves limited overnight travel requirements.)
    • Periodically climbing ladders, operating lifts, and carrying/transferring up to 50 pounds of equipment
    • Ability to work in a team-based environment
    • Vision is required to perform required tasks associated with job
    • Hearing is required to hear instructions, safety warnings, and other communication
    • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English language effectively
