    Grand River Dam Authority (GRDA) is looking for a Grounds Technician
    to join our team. The Grounds Technician is responsible for maintaining
    the exterior grounds of the facility, ensuring a clean, safe, and
    aesthetically pleasing environment. This role includes routine
    landscaping, lawn care, and outdoor maintenance tasks. The Grounds
    Technician will also assist with seasonal duties and collaborate with
    other maintenance staff to ensure the property is well-maintained.

    Essential job functions include, but are not limited to:

    • Perform routine landscaping tasks such as mowing, trimming,
      edging, pruning, and planting.

    • Maintain flower beds, trees, and shrubs, ensuring proper
      watering, fertilizing, and pest control.

    • Monitor and maintain irrigation systems, ensuring proper
      functioning and scheduling.

    • Keep walkways, parking areas, and outdoor spaces clear of debris,
      leaves, snow, and ice.

    • Perform routine inspections of outdoor equipment and report
      maintenance needs or repairs.

    • Safely operate a variety of tools and equipment, including lawn
      mowers, trimmers, and leaf blowers.

    • Operate heavy equipment such as Man lift, Back-hoe, Dump Truck,
      Skid Loader with attachments, or other equipment used in the
      construction, repair, or maintenance of GRDA facilities.

    • Ensure proper disposal of waste and recycling materials following
      local environmental regulations.

    • Apply insecticides, pesticides, and other pest control treatments
      inside the facility and on the grounds.

    • Remove debris, leaves, and other obstructions from building
      roofs, gutters, and drains.

    • Perform power washing of restrooms, balconies, decks, and other
      surfaces.

    • Repair and maintain roads and gravel bars.

    • Prepare and install cement pads for structures or equipment,
      ensuring proper leveling and durability.

    • Install, repair, and maintain cement pads and picnic
      tables

    • Attend and participate in quarterly safety meetings and training
      classes.

    • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

    Skills, Knowledge, Qualities:

    • General knowledge of handling herbicides.

    • Ability to safely operate landscaping equipment and
      tools.

    • Basic knowledge of plant care, lawn care, and irrigation
      systems.

    • Strong attention to detail and the ability to work
      independently.

    • Good communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.

    Education and/or Experience:

    • High School diploma or equivalent required, vocational/trade
      school preferred.

    • Minimum of 2 years of experience in groundskeeping, landscaping,
      or related field required.

    Certificates, Registrations, Licenses:

    • Valid Oklahoma driver’s license, or the ability to convert within
      30 days for those with an out of state driver’s license that are an
      Oklahoma resident.

    • Obtain Spray Licenses with in first year.

    • Maintain CEU’s for Spray License.

    Physical/Mental Requirements & Working
    Conditions:

    • Must be able to lift, move and carry weights of 50 lbs. on a
      regular basis.

    • Must be able to perform work outdoors in all types of weather
      conditions.

    • Required to bend, stoop, perform above shoulder work and work
      with arms extended.

    • Ability to stand, walk, and perform outdoor labor for extended
      periods.

    • Physical ability to perform tasks that require working at heights
      and in various weather conditions.

    Other information:

    • Must be 18 years of age or older.

    • Work is performed primarily at the Ecosystems Center in Langley,
      Oklahoma with occasional travel to other GRDA facilities as
      needed.

      qualifications
