Job Overview

Perform mechanical and electrical testing of medical devices, including pacemakers, defibrillators, loop recorders, and leads. Support testing activities to ensure products meet design specifications, quality requirements, and industry standards.

Job Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

·         Perform mechanical, electrical, electromechanical, and optical testing. 

·         Conduct packaging, environmental, fatigue, implant procedure, electrical, and electromagnetic testing. 

·         Prepare, set up, troubleshoot, calibrate, and operate complex test equipment. 

·         Follow test plans, work instructions, company procedures, and industry standards. 

·         Operate equipment such as: Drop, shock & vibration systems, Environmental chambers, Instron, Electrical test systems, Multimeters, Generators, Oscilloscopes 

·         Plan test schedules to maximize equipment and technician time. 

·         Collect, analyze, and document test data accurately. 

·         Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment, components, and systems. 

·         Perform calibration and alignment checks and make adjustments or replacements as directed. 

·         Communicate test status, issues, observations, and potential delays to management and customers. 

·         Lead or support projects involving complex testing. 

·         Prepare reports and clearly communicate test results. 

·         Provide technical support to testing, production, maintenance, and product development teams. 

·         Participate in internal and external audits. 

·         Maintain accurate technical documentation using Microsoft Word and Excel. 

·         May provide guidance to new or entry-level technicians. 

Qualifications

 

Required Qualifications

·         High School Diploma/GED required. 

·         Minimum 2 years of relevant experience. 

·         Ability to read and follow schematics, engineering drawings, test plans, and work instructions. 

·         Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills. 

·         Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel. 

·         Good written, verbal, interpersonal, and technical communication skills. 

·         Ability to work independently and in a team environment. 

·         Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy. 

·         Ability to work under moderate supervision and make routine technical decisions. 

 

Preferred Qualifications

·         2+ years of medical device testing experience. 

·         Mechanical, electrical, and EMC testing experience. 

·         Experience working in a regulated environment. 

·         Knowledge of FDA regulations and ISO/IEC 17025. 

·         Experience with calibration and metrology services. 

·         Soldering and assembly experience. 

·         Experience with safe handling of medical devices and high-voltage testing. 

·         Experience with test instrumentation and complex test setups.
