The (USA) Technician, Facility Services, Exterior Services-DOT, is responsible for maintaining safe, clean, and efficient exterior facility operations. This role ensures compliance with safety and environmental regulations while managing equipment, performing seasonal maintenance, and coordinating repairs. The technician supports cost control through effective sourcing and budget management, leads third-party providers, and delivers quality service to meet facility needs. About the team:
The Facility Services Exterior Services team ensures safe, clean, and well-maintained environments across Walmart locations. This team manages seasonal exterior maintenance, including snow and ice control, landscaping, and equipment upkeep. They coordinate repairs, oversee third-party providers, and implement cost-effective solutions while adhering to safety and environmental standards. The team fosters professional growth, supports operational excellence, and maintains compliance with company policies and regulations. Their collaborative approach ensures facilities meet quality and safety requirements, contributing to a positive experience for associates and customers alike.
What you'll do:

• Operate and maintain facility exterior equipment, including heavy machinery, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
• Perform seasonal exterior maintenance such as snow and ice management to maintain safe facility conditions.
• Manage vehicle maintenance, inspections, and documentation to ensure operational readiness and safety.
• Coordinate purchases of parts, tools, and supplies, controlling costs through price comparisons and warranty claims.
• Lead third-party providers, conduct quality inspections, and coach associates to uphold service standards.
• Address customer concerns by troubleshooting and providing timely solutions.
• Develop budgets, prepare cost estimates, and implement facility upgrades to enhance sustainability and efficiency.

What you'll bring:

• Proven experience operating and maintaining heavy machinery and powered equipment in compliance with safety standards.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations relevant to exterior facility services.
• Ability to manage budgets, conduct cost comparisons, and approve purchases for parts, materials, and equipment.
• Skilled in troubleshooting, quality assurance inspections, and resolving customer issues effectively.
• Demonstrated leadership in coaching, performance evaluations, and managing third-party service providers.
• Competence in seasonal exterior maintenance, including snow and ice management.
• Commitment to upholding company policies, ethics, and safety protocols consistently.

The hourly wage range for this position is $19.00 - $35.00* *The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances. Premiums may be based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.

Minimum Qualifications...

Outlined below are the required minimum qualifications for this position. If none are listed, there are no minimum qualifications.

21 years of age or older.

Valid state-issued driver’s license.

No convictions for DUI, DWI, OUI, or reckless driving involving alcohol or drugs within the last three (3) years.

No more than two (2) moving violations in the last three (3) years, if driving a commercial motor vehicle.

No serious traffic violations (as defined by Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations) in the last three (3) years, if operating a commercial motor
vehicle.

No preventable accidents (as defined by Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations) in the last three (3) years, if operating a commercial motor
vehicle.

Successful completion of a DOT physical and medical certification pre- hire.

As required by section 391.11(b)(2) of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, ability to read and speak in the English language.

2 years’ experience in the landscaping/gardening industry

Able to successfully complete a DOT physical and secure medical certification during pre-hire contingency and be able to maintain a minimum of a 90 day Medical Examiner’s Certification (MEC) card, Associate’s degree or equivalent in Engineering, Maintenance, Construction Management, or related area., Experience in third-party management., Experience using intermediate level functionality of word processing, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software (for example, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)., Proficient in speaking and understanding Spanish., State/local licensing where required (for example, Florida, Texas, California, etc).
