Basic Job Functions:
Education/Experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
Candidates must meet ONE of the following criteria to qualify:
One or more years experience as a FS manufacturing operator/production associate/operations technician.
Two or more years external experience in a high-volume manufacturing setting.
Hands-on electrical/mechanical troubleshooting experience strongly preferred.
Required Skills/Competencies:

Strong potential developing technical skill set.
Ready and eager to rapidly upskill technical skills through structured training program. This training will result in the associate being able to troubleshoot and solve equipment and process issues on the manufacturing line.
Self-directed, able to work with minimal supervision.
Good written and oral communications skills.
Ability to deal with administrative as well as technical tasks.
Working knowledge of common Windows computer applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Ability to identify recurring issues and develop/communicate improvement recommendations.
Essential Responsibilities:
Solves day-to-day production, equipment, and process problems under the supervision of experienced technicians, supervisors and engineers.
Performs the on-site service and repair of equipment.
Identifies and implements yield and product performance improvements.
Accomplishes daily assignments as scheduled and as directed.
Develops methods to assign causes to yield excursions.
Sets up and maintains gauges.
Ensures all processes are running on target as defined by the Process Control Plan.
Responds to SPC process control alarms, bringing processes back into control.
Executes planned process experiments, collects and analyzes data and report experimental results.
Collects data relating to daily tool performance and associated product performance.
Transition new equipment and processes through start-up, qualification, and implementation.
May provide training to production associates once a certain level of proficiency is reached.
Develops and updates internal documentation including drawings, standard operating procedures, and process specifications.
Interface with internal associates and supplier representatives, as required, to complete assigned projects.
Develops a complete understanding of area processes, equipment, and support systems.
Maintains effective communication with other members of the manufacturing team.
Dispositions non-conforming product according to established criteria (NCP).
Adheres to all safety procedures and good housekeeping standards.
Ensures waste materials are discarded in their designated containers.
Ensures hazardous waste containers stay closed except when adding or removing waste.
Ensures satellite accumulation containers stay in their designated locations.
Complete First Solar Associate EMT training program.
Other duties as assigned.
