Role Overview

 

• The Drains Technician is responsible for performing diagnostic, cleaning, and repair services for residential and commercial drain systems. This role is ideal for a hands-on professional who enjoys problem-solving, providing excellent customer service, and working with advanced drain-cleaning tools and technology. The Drains Technician clears stoppages, inspects sewer and drain lines, recommends repairs, and ensures each customer receives safe, efficient, and high-quality service.

 

 

 

What You Bring

 

• Minimum 2 years of drain cleaning, service, or related plumbing experience preferred. - Licensing: Valid driver's license with clean driving record required; plumbing apprentice license a plus. - Technical Skills: Knowledge of drain cleaning equipment (cable, sectional, jetter, camera systems); basic plumbing knowledge. - Customer Skills: Excellent communication and ability to explain findings and solutions clearly. - Physical Requirements: Ability to lift 50+ lbs, work in confined spaces, and perform physical labor in various environments. - Availability: Willing to work evenings, weekends, or participate in an on-call rotation as needed.

 

 

 

Key Responsibilities

 

• Diagnostics & Repair: Locate, diagnose, and clear drain and sewer blockages using cable machines, jetters, or camera systems. - Video Inspection: Operate sewer cameras and locators to identify line issues such as root intrusion, breaks, or grade problems. - Repair Recommendations: Provide professional assessments and explain repair options (spot repairs, trenchless, excavation, or replacements). - Preventive Maintenance: Perform scheduled cleanings and maintenance for recurring problem drains. - Customer Service: Communicate clearly with customers about findings, solutions, and pricing; ensure all work is completed to satisfaction. - Documentation: Complete service tickets accurately with photos, videos, and detailed notes in the field software system. - Safety & Compliance: Follow OSHA and company safety protocols, PPE standards, and proper chemical handling procedures. - Teamwork: Coordinate with supervisors, dispatch, and plumbers for complex repairs or follow-up work. - Equipment Care: Maintain and clean drain machines, jetters, cameras, and company vehicle daily.
