Technician

JOB DESCRIPTION

Supports and assists in the design, development, production, testing, installation, programming, operation and maintenance of distribution communications and controls equipment. Performs equipment maintenance, calibration, mechanical and electrical repairs, adjustments and monitoring of communication and controls products. Experienced with complex instruments, testing equipment and gauges. May test models, write reports, identify problems and suggest solutions.

· Electrical or communications troubleshooting experience

· Networking knowledge (firewalls, connectivity, Ethernet)

· Microsoft Office (Excel, Access proficiency preferred)

· Database updating and maintenance

· Basic understanding of electrical engineering or distribution systems

· Strong communication and collaboration

· Ability to work independently in field conditions

Ideal candidate background and how many years required?

Approximately 2 years of relevant experience in communications, IT, or electrical troubleshooting. Candidates may come from backgrounds in telecommunications, network support, or electrical panel wiring
