Description

Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40

  • Processes and supplies sterilized medical equipment, linen and supplies.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Performs packing, wrapping, marking, autoclaving and issuing activities required to process and supply sterilized linens, equipment, devices, instruments, etc. for use throughout the hospital in accordance with established procedures.
  • Performs quality control test on all equipment prior to use, including a daily test on steam, Sterrad, and gas sterilizers. Inspects all surgical linens for stains and holes. Removes all lint from linen prior to its use. Must set up all oral and gastric suctions and maintain the crash, catheter and urological carts.
  • Assembles packages and trays, according to quantity, type, destination, and usage, as listed. Receives and wraps O.R. linen in the prescribed manner and quantity. Marks tape and forwards for autoclaving. Loads autoclave and operates to sterilize contents by steam, Sterrad and gas. (plus aeration process for gas only).
  • Case cart assembly and picking.
  • Maintains a clean and orderly processing area.
  • Performs required tasks as directed.
  • Will be cross trained to perform duties in all General Services Departments as directed.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • Minimum of 1 years of experience in central sterile reprocessing.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills:

Education/Training

  • High school diploma or equivalent

Licenses/Certification:

CRCST preferred

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Ability to stand, sit, walk, bend and reach without restriction. Ability to lift between 25 - 50 pounds using proper body mechanics.

The pay range displayed on each job posting reflects the anticipated range for new hires. A successful candidate's actual compensation will be determined after taking factors into consideration such as the candidate's work history, experience, skill set, and education. For annual salaries this is based on full-time employment.
