    Description

    BlueWave is hiring a Technical Writer – Mechanical Engineering for an aerospace client based in Long Beach, California. As Technical Writer – Mechanical Engineering, you will collaborate with engineers and subject-matter experts to translate complex mechanical and manufacturing processes into clear, usable documentation. You will develop and maintain work instructions that accurately reflect engineering requirements and shop-floor practices.

    Responsibilities

    • Create and maintain technical documentation and manufacturing work instructions
    • Translate engineering drawings, models, and technical input into clear procedural content
    • Document fluid-system assembly and related manufacturing processes
    • Develop instructions covering orbital tube welding, tube bending, flaring, and precision cleaning
    • Verify that documentation accurately reflects the work being performed
    • Collaborate with process engineering, design engineering, quality, and manufacturing personnel
    • Gather and validate technical information with engineers and subject-matter experts
    • Revise documentation in response to engineering, quality, or process changes
    • Maintain consistent, accurate, and usable technical content

    Requirements

    • Strong technical writing and documentation skills
    • Experience authoring manufacturing work instructions
    • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
    • Experience working with 3D CAD models
    • Familiarity with manufacturing operations management systems
    • Experience documenting fluid-system assemblies
    • Knowledge of orbital tube welding processes
    • Experience with tube bending and flaring
    • Knowledge of precision-cleaning processes
    • Ability to collaborate effectively with engineering, quality, manufacturing, and technical subject-matter experts

    Employment Type: 3-month contract; onsite in Long Beach, California
    Pay Range: Approximately $50–$55 per hour
    Schedule: Monday through Friday during normal business hours
