Job Title: Technical Writer
Location: Fairport, NY - 100% Onsite
Duration: 06+ Months - Possibility of extension based on demand.
Schedule: Full-time, Mon - Fri, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
Client Advanced Optics plant in Fairport, NY is seeking a technical writer to improve existing and develop new technical documentation. The documentation being developed is for use by manufacturing and engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities
" Documentation Creation: Develop and improve work instructions, standard operating procedures, troubleshooting guides, and job aids.
" Collaboration: Work closely with subject matter experts, engineers, and operations gather information and ensure accuracy in documentation.
" Research: Investigate and analyze technical information from various sources to create comprehensive documentation that meets user needs.
" Editing and Proofreading: Review and edit documentation for clarity, consistency, and adherence to company style guidelines.
" Basic Project Management: Manage documentation projects, including planning, scheduling, and tracking progress to meet deadlines and quality standards.
Required Skills and Qualifications
" Bachelor's degree in English, communication, technical writing, engineering, or science fields.
" 3+ years of technical writing experience
" Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, Teams). PTC Windchill system experience is a plus.
" Ability to understand technical processes being documented. Optics knowledge is a plus.
" Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information in a clear and concise manner.
" Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy and quality in all documentation produced.
" Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment, adapting to changing project requirements and deadlines.
