    Description

    The Technical Training Coordinator plays a vital role in supporting Tesla s world-class training programs within the Training department. This position focuses on coordinating and managing technical training initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a foundational understanding of Tesla s operations and a passion for fostering skill development among maintenance, process, and engineering teams. Reporting to the Training leadership, this role involves collaboration with cross-functional teams, including production leaders to ensure effective training delivery, resource management, and program success. This position requires flexibility to work across all departments, and work with external vendors.

    • Assist in managing the Technical Training program by tracking success metrics via dashboards, ensuring alignment with production goals, maintaining external training backlogs in collaboration with the Training Team using Confluence for documentation and updates, and supporting space allocation for external training sessions at designated locations if necessary
    • Add instructors to LMS, in coordination with the Training Team, manage overall LMS utilization, monitor Technical Training sessions, scheduling, and attendance while assisting with related issues for smooth execution
    • Administer the Learning Management System along with Tableau dashboards to track learner progress, complete training, and required certifications
    • Conduct Instructor-led courses and stay current on content and methodologies. Deliver equipment-specific training in classroom and manufacturing plant settings using varied formats, including Instructor-Led sessions, facilitative group learning, active hands-on activities, and functional assessments
    • Be familiar with production lines within the Megafactory, to support training relevance. Demonstrate the ability to work with all shifts, scheduling time in advance with off shifts to maximize coverage and effective training space utilization
    • Strong ability to work in cross-functional groups from diverse technical and experienced backgrounds
    • Perform other duties as assigned to support learning
    • Two (2) years of practical experience in industrial technical maintenance/engineering applications. Degree in Engineering, or equivalent experience and evidence of exceptional ability
    • Experience in programming Fanuc and or Kuka robots, commissioning is a plus. Experience programming Siemens/Allen Bradley PLC (Bheckhoff is a plus) and working knowledge in high voltage electrical cabinets (design/construction preferred)
    • Proven ability to develop and deliver high-impact technical training programs with minimal resources, adapting creatively to budget constraints (e.g., leveraging existing tools, open-source materials, or improvised solutions) to achieve training objectives without relying on consistent funding
    • Knowledge of methods, techniques, parts, tools, and materials used in the maintenance and repair of manufacturing Robotics equipment and/or processes
    • Strong ability to work and communicate effectively with team and peers within the Training, Maintenance, and Engineering organizations
    • Strong ability to work and communicate effectively with team and peers within various parts of the Manufacturing organization.  Strong interpersonal and technical writing skills in English.  Strong analytical problem-solving skills. Technology Skills: Ability to integrate computer applications into teaching, coding experience a strong plus.  Strong computer experience, expertise in video, audio, and image editing tools. Strong ability to work in cross-functional groups from diverse technical and experienced backgrounds. Perform other duties as assigned to support learning
    • Knowledge of preventative and predictive maintenance methodologies, including TPM and CMMS.  Prior experience as a trainer or instructor, with the ability to explain technical concepts to diverse audiences
