    Description

    Provide day-to-day operations support for the audio video (AV) operations of the Legislative Branch. This includes customer service, room setup, video editing, equipment management and operations, coordination with support vendors, and resource planning.

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

    The Technical Support Specialist must possess:

    • Substantial knowledge of use of AV technologies including those used for Internet delivery.
    • Substantial knowledge of AV related software applications.
    • General knowledge of audio and video production and editing techniques.
    • General knowledge of AV equipment troubleshooting and configuration.
    • General knowledge of digital audio and video archiving techniques and standards.
    • General knowledge of standard office equipment.
    • General knowledge of computer databases and asset management systems.
    • General knowledge of proper grammar, spelling, punctuation and writing style.
    • Basic knowledge of office filing procedures.
    • Ability to use, and adapt to new features of, computers, software, and standard office equipment.
    • Ability to take direction from supervisors.
    • Ability to communicate ideas effectively.
    • Ability to manage, plan, coordinate, and design communications.
    • Ability to write and speak clearly, concisely, and in a well-organized manner.
    • Ability to communicate and perform effectively and diplomatically.
    • Ability to analyze information and make sound judgments.
    • Ability to establish effective working relationships.

    The Technical Support Specialist works in an ordinary office environment. This position is expected to work comptime hours during the legislative session, and when support needs run outside normal business hours. The position involves physical demands associated with lifting and carrying items weighing up to 50 pounds.

    Qualifications

    An associate degree in a computer science or related field plus (3) years of relevant work experience

    OR

    An equivalent amount of education and experience.
