Technical Support Analyst II

City of Tallahassee - Technology & Innovation Department

Join the City of Tallahassees Technology & Innovation Department supporting Public Safety technology. This technical role assists in evaluating, implementing, and maintaining body worn camera equipment/software under general supervision of the Program Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support body worn camera systems and advise TPD staff on software use
  • Perform hardware and specialty software installations, and build and maintain the applications needed to deploy these systems
  • Monitor system performance and assist with hardware/software evaluation
  • Train staff on equipment use and video redaction
  • Support public/agency video requests, Real Time Crime Center, and Drone program
  • Troubleshoot issues and test products to keep everything working smoothly

Minimum Training & Experience

Possession of a bachelor's degree in information systems, computer science, public administration, business administration, or a related field.

and

Possession of five years of experience performing computer systems evaluations/analysis or compliance in a law enforcement environment.

or

Possession of a high school diploma or GED and nine years of experience that includes performing computer systems evaluations/analysis or compliance in a law enforcement environment.

Necessary Special Requirements

This position includes a variety of responsibilities and requires a high degree of sensitivity to confidential matters. The selected applicant must successfully complete a criminal background check including fingerprints. Must obtain Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) certification within 30 days of employment required.

Salary Range

$25.1538 to $68.2567/hourly. Hiring rate generally will not exceed $43.2862/hour.

Drivers License Requirements

Must possess a valid Class E State drivers license at the time of appointment.
