VACANCY
Skate into an exciting opportunity with the City of Pomona! The Community Services Department is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Technical Specialist II - Skateboard Lead to oversee skateboarding programs for Pomona youth.
Under the supervision of the Recreation Coordinator and Recreation Supervisor, the Skateboard Lead develops programs, guides staff, promotes safe practices, and helps ensure program and City goals are met. Assignment will be based on operational needs and the selected candidate's experience.
The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate has strong skateboarding experience and enjoys leading programs for youth of varying ages and skill levels. They are safety-focused, organized, adaptable, and able to work effectively with participants, families, staff, community members, and program partners. They will help lead the skate team, expand programming, and maintain a safe and inclusive environment.
Assignment and Work Schedule
This at-will, hourly, part-time position will work approximately 15-20 hours per week and fewer than 1,000 hours in a twelve-month period. Most shifts will be scheduled during afternoons and evenings, although summer mornings and some weekends may be required. The position does not include City-sponsored health benefits.

Essential duties require the following physical skills and work environment: Ability to work in a standard office environment and outdoors in city parks; ability to travel to different sites and locations.
