Sr. Technical Sourcer – Executive/Research

Location: Mountain View, CA
Pay: $67.47/hr
Duration: 3-month contract initially
Position Type: Contract

Position Summary

We are seeking a Senior Technical Sourcer to support highly specialized research and advanced-technology hiring across a broad range of technical disciplines. This individual will partner closely with engineering teams, recruiters, and hiring managers to build strong pipelines of highly sought-after research, engineering, and technical leadership talent.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of technical sourcing experience within an Advanced Technology, R&D, research lab, or similarly sophisticated engineering environment, with demonstrated success sourcing both PhD-level research talent and Director+ technical leaders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop proactive, impactful sourcing strategies using multi-channel sourcing techniques.
  • Identify and engage highly specialized passive and niche technical talent.
  • Source Research Scientists, Research Engineers, PhD-level technical talent, and advanced engineering professionals.
  • Identify and engage Director+ and executive-level technical leaders, particularly within AI/ML, Computer Vision, Robotics, and related disciplines.
  • Build and maintain a strong network of highly qualified technical candidates.
  • Leverage LinkedIn, GitHub, Slack communities, research networks, publications, conferences, universities, and professional networks to identify difficult-to-find talent.
  • Partner with recruiters and hiring managers to understand position requirements and establish effective sourcing strategies.
  • Act as a sourcing consultant throughout the recruiting process, including candidate qualification and calibration.
  • Promote the employer brand through targeted outreach and recruiting campaigns.
  • Track sourcing metrics and conversion rates, including passive candidate engagement, applications, interviews, offers, and hires.
  • Analyze and present market intelligence to inform sourcing strategies.
  • Apply sourcing techniques designed to reach diverse candidate populations.
  • Collaborate with recruiters, coordinators, hiring managers, and other HR partners to establish effective recruiting processes.
  • Craft compelling recruiting emails and outreach messaging tailored to candidate motivations and career goals.
  • Prioritize workload effectively while operating with limited supervision in a fast-paced environment.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of technical sourcing experience within an Advanced Technology, R&D, research lab, or sophisticated engineering organization.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Must have experience sourcing Research Scientists and/or Research Engineers.
  • Demonstrated experience recruiting difficult-to-find, niche, and PhD-level technical talent.
  • Must have experience sourcing Director+ / executive-level technical talent.
  • Strong experience sourcing within AI, GenAI, Machine Learning, Computer Vision, Robotics, or related advanced technologies.
  • Advanced passive sourcing capabilities across LinkedIn, GitHub, Slack, research communities, publications, conferences, universities, and professional networks.
  • Ability to analyze sourcing data and use market intelligence to develop sourcing strategies.
  • Strong recruiting email and candidate engagement skills.
  • Experience partnering with hiring managers to define requirements and calibrate candidate profiles.
  • Strong organization, communication, collaboration, and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to operate independently in a fast-paced, agile environment.
  • Tenacious, proactive approach to solving challenging sourcing problems.
