    What You'll Do

    • Serve as the subject matter expert for brazing, nitriding, and FNC processing, partnering strategically with internal teams, sales, and customers to drive success
    • Champion compliance and quality assurance by auditing systems against AS9100, NADCAP, and customer-specific requirements
    • Monitor quality performance metrics, identify root causes of issues, and implement effective, data-driven solutions
    • Collaborate with production teams to develop and implement process controls and continuous improvements that enhance efficiency
    • Define and support development of processing parameters for new jobs using customer specifications, drawings, and purchase orders
    • Prepare initial sample reports and First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) as needed
    • Train and mentor team members in Statistical Process Control (SPC), inspection methods, recordkeeping, and core heat treating, brazing, and nitriding principles
    • Work cross-functionally with plant leadership to resolve engineering and quality challenges and strengthen problem-solving capabilities
    • Communicate process changes, resource needs, and training requirements to employees and leadership to consistently meet customer expectations
    • Develop and maintain standard procedures, control plans, process specification sheets, and technical documentation
    • Analyze trends using control plans, Root Cause Analysis (RCA) data, inspection logs, quality reports, and furnace records to drive continuous improvement
    • Provide comprehensive technical and quality support to customers, including product guidance, prototype development, and special requests
    • Lead customer issue resolution efforts, partnering across functions to deliver timely and effective corrective actions
    • Follow up with customers to confirm corrective actions are effective and ensure proper Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) follow-up and auditing
    • Complete all required annual safety and environmental training and comply with all company safety policies and procedures
    • Maintain knowledge of and adhere to all applicable Federal, State, and Local environmental legal requirements and best practices
    • Travel 15-20% as needed to support operations and customer relationships
    • Perform additional duties as assigned

    What We're Looking For

    Required Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Materials Science or a related engineering field
    • Five or more years of manufacturing experience or equivalent professional experience
    • Strong knowledge of quality systems including ISO 9001/IATF 16949, AS9100, AS13100, CQI-9, CQI-12, and NADCAP
    • Demonstrated ability to build trust and effectively support both internal and external customers
    • Professionalism, sound judgment, and excellent interpersonal skills when collaborating with employees and customers
    • Strong leadership, communication, writing, and project management capabilities
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
    • Ability to apply higher-level mathematics and engineering principles to solve complex problems

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Direct experience in brazing, nitriding, and FNC processing
    • Aerospace manufacturing or quality experience
    • Lean/Six Sigma Yellow Belt certification or training
    • Plex ERP system experience
    • In-depth knowledge of heat-treating principles, including surface hardening, diffusion thermodynamics, hardness, and microstructural analysis
