Technical Services Department (Houston)

Our Technical Services team is focused on finding technologies that ensure safe, reliable operations that contribute to the success of Saudi Aramco.

Engineering Opportunity

Preferred disciplines: Mechanical or Chemical Engineering

The summer student will assist senior engineers in technology scouting, technical assessments, inspection activities, and other related project activities as needed. This assignment will provide an opportunity to become familiar with the oil & gas and petrochemical industries and related processes, searching industry-wide technical standards and identifying important design factors such as pressure and temperature ratings, minimum wall thickness, corrosion allowance, and material groups.

Typical activities include:

• Assisting senior engineers with projects and assignments related to:
• static equipment
• rotating equipment
• instrumentation and automation
• process design
• technology scouting
• equipment manufacturer, process plant, and/or technology provider facility tours
• development and/or revision of engineering procedures

Capital Projects Services & Contracts Administration

Preferred disciplines: Engineering, Supply Chain, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field

The summer student will support the division in coordinating capital project services and contract administration activities. Working with experienced team members, the student will gain practical exposure to the contract and purchase order lifecycle, project documentation, invoice tracking, data analysis, and stakeholder coordination that enable timely and cost-effective project delivery.

Typical activities include:

• Supporting invoice review and tracking to help ensure accurate processing, timely approvals, and vendor payment follow-up.
• Organizing project and contract records, maintaining trackers, validating data, and preparing status summaries for management review.
• Helping coordinate onboarding activities and guidance materials for project teams using company processes, platforms, and systems.
• Preparing reports, presentations, dashboards, and process-improvement recommendations related to project services and contract administration.
• Participating in team meetings and collaborating with engineering, project management, finance, procurement, legal, and supplier stakeholders.
• Support additional projects, assignments, and administrative activities as needed

Quality Management Division (QMD) Support (Houston)

Preferred disciplines: Mechanical Engineering

The Quality Management Group ensures that materials, services, and business processes consistently meet quality, regulatory, and customer requirements. Through quality assurance, quality control, audits, inspections, and continuous improvement, the group helps drive operational excellence, compliance, and customer satisfaction.

The summer student will assist Quality Advisors in review of Engineering Standards, Material Test Reports (MTRs), Certificates of Compliance, and inspection reports across multiple commodities (e.g., valves, pressure equipment, rotating equipment, electrical items, etc.) to ensure compliance to Purchase Order requirements. In addition, the students will be introduced into the Quality Management System process to support reviews of potential suppliers for Saudi Aramco. They will become familiar with ISO 9001:2026 and other industry Quality Management System Standards.

Typical Activities include:

The following lists the main functions of QMD and where support and optimization opportunities will be needed.

• Coordinates inspection and testing activities for direct placed purchase orders (PO) of engineered materials at manufacturing sources to ensure compliance with the PO specifications.
• Provide inspection and quality monitoring of Saudi Aramco project contractor's inspectors at manufacturing facilities to ensure compliance to project specifications.
• Performs Quality Management System (QMS) evaluations of current and potential suppliers of materials to Saudi Aramco in accordance with Aramco requirements.

HSSE Opportunity

Preferred disciplines: Occupational Safety and Health, Environmental Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, Public Health, Emergency Management, Political Science, Security Management, Risk Management, Fire Protection, Engineering, Engineering Technology, or related disciplines.

Five Key Points:

• The summer student will primarily support Health, Safety and Environmental activities while also assisting with selected Physical Security projects within a corporate environment.
• Participate in workplace inspections, hazard identification, risk assessments, corrective-action tracking, incident-prevention initiatives, and emergency-preparedness activities.
• Review safety observations, inspection findings, incident information, and program metrics, and help prepare reports, dashboards, safety communications, training materials, and employee-awareness content.
• Assist with selected physical security assessments, facility walkthroughs, and reviews or inventories of access control, video surveillance, alarms, intercoms, visitor management, credentialing, and physical key-control processes. Information Technology may provide technical support, but this is not a cybersecurity or general IT assignment.
• Research applicable standards, industry practices, and technologies; collaborate with HSSE and supporting business functions; and develop practical recommendations for continuous improvement.

Summer Assignment and Learning Experience: The summer student will complete a defined 12-week project with HSE as the primary focus and Physical Security support incorporated where appropriate. The assignment may include an assessment, data analysis, program or equipment inventory, dashboard or tracking tool, employee communication materials, prioritized recommendations, and a final presentation to HSSE management.
