    This position is a liaison between the customer and the mill. Responsible for explaining customer expectations to the mill as well as mill capabilities to the customer.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    1) Ensure Safety, Environmental, Quality requirements and "where applicable" ResponsibleSteel requirements are followed.

    2) Conducts pre-production application engineering and specifications review.

    3) Ensures timely and accurate part set-up and part approvals in accordance with purchase orders and customer specific requirements.

    4) Carries out the assigned duties of a Team Member to support Project Management and maintains customer specific requirements in Project Management as appropriate.

    5) Responsible for all customer technical material referrals.

    6) Responsible for managing material claims process, including but not limited to: customer communications, investigations, containment, CCAR initiation, reporting quality alerts, customer feedback through the CFR system, application or removal of material as required, and assist customers with alternate applications or process improvement methods.

    7) Provide mill operations with a thorough understanding of customer products and expectations.

    8) Provide technical, engineering, product, and quality assurance support to mill customers.

    9) Work with sales to identify and develop new markets and products.

    10) Remain current on all relevant product, technology, customer, and industry knowledge and trends.

    11) Participate in industry groups and associations.

    12) Responsible for identifying and communicating product quality and customer satisfaction concerns to mill operations.

    13) Participate in product development efforts as well as continuous improvement initiatives, both for internal and external customers.

    14) Be accountable for assigned customer base growth in accordance with profit and loss goals including internal/external rejects, non-prime generation, etc.

    15) Perform all duties in the spirit of company culture and in accordance with legal, ethical, and contractual practices. 16) Ability to travel 50 %( or more) of the time.

    Qualifications:

    1) Four year technical degree and minimum of two years' relevant work experience preferred

    2) Or, minimum of five years relevant steel industry work experience, including supervisory

    3) Thorough understanding of steel processes, melting, rolling and finishing of carbon flat roll

    4) In depth knowledge of flat roll steel defects and root causes

    5) Knowledge of downstream steel processing: stamping, forming, CTL, slitting etc.

    6) Understanding of current market issues and trends as it relates to the carbon flat rolled steel industry Understanding of competitor's relative strengths and weaknesses

    7) Excellent written and oral communication skills

    8) Effectively interpret and make business decisions using financial information

    9) Demonstrated ability to proactively and positively accomplish multiple tasks simultaneously

    10) Ability to work in a self-directed fashion, drive, initiative, self-starter

    11) Effectively lead others in a collaborative environment and drive results

    12) MS Office Skills

    13) Additional languages a plus

    Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:

    This position requires a flexible schedule. Hours could include overtime, nights and weekends as well as travel with little or no advance notice. This position requires the ability to work in hot/cold manufacturing environments. Supervisory Responsibility:
